- Heat energy

- AC Fuses:

- DC Fuses:
In a DC electrical fuse, DC will have constant value and hence the arc that is produced because of the heat that is generated by the excessive current cannot be extinguished easily. So, to minimize this fuse arching, the DC fuses are bigger than AC fuses.
