DU Admission Process Set Back on Day 2 Due to Slow Down Of Online Portal; Check Details

On day 2, Delhi university's admission process to undergraduate programs hampered due to the slow speed of the online admission portal.

Delhi University received 49,712 applications on day 2 and only 15.36% which is 7,640 applications were approved and 6,790 students made online fees payment.

Manoj Khanna, principal of Ramjas College said that in the initial few hours the admission portal of the university was very slow and it paced up only after 2 p.m.

He also informed that it took 30 minutes for the process and they could process only 60 applications till 2 p.m.

The principal of Lady Shri Ram College For Women, Suman Sharma stated that the portal was not working around 7:30 p.m.

She also mentioned that the coordination between the university and the colleges was perfect and they received an immediate response from university officials.

The principal of Rajdhani College, Dr. Rajesh Giri stated that the online portal slowed down because of heavy traffic since this is the first admission process held online.

He also mentioned that the second day of admission was much better and they had 103 admissions to the science stream and 225 admissions to the arts and commerce team.

Vibha Chauhan, the principal of Kirori Mal College informed that day 2 admission was smoother because it gave time to teachers who have to handle both the admission process and online classes.

Till day 2, Delhi University has received 3.54 lakh applications for 70,000 UG seats and Wednesday will be the last day for seeking admission in DU.

On day 1, the Delhi university has received more than 19,000 applications for its affiliated colleges. The University has approved 1,628 applications out of which 920 students made payments. Read more
