Schools to Re-Open After August, said Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal

Minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal said that the schools across the country will re-open after August, possibly even after August 15, 2020

Earlier, the schools were expected to open in July, once the pending exams for class 10th and 12th are finished. However this has further been delayed for August.

Ramesh Pokhriyal also said that the final decision will be taken after knowing the ground situation and the views of the health and home ministries.

CBSE will be conducting CBSE class 10 and CBSE class 12 exams in between July 1 to July 15, 2020.

With increase in COVID positive cases across the country, the major concern is the conduction of July exams. Pokhriyal in regard to this stated that " It is difficult to predict what will happen in July. But, will abide by the home ministry and the health ministry decision. The safety of the students will be paramount."

Adding to this he said, if the situation doesn't get better the department will consult the ministry, students and parents. After taking all the suggestions the final decision will be taken in the scenario.
