Tamil Nadu NEET MDS 2026 Round 1 Counselling Registration Begins; Check Last Date to Apply

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) has released a notice. Tamil Nadu NEET MDS 2026 Round 1 counselling registration is now open. Candidates can apply on the official portal at tnmedicalselection.net. The window covers Government Quota and Management Quota MDS seats.

Only candidates who qualified NEET MDS 2026 are eligible to register. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conducts this exam. Applicants must finish registration, choice filling and fee payment on time.

Missing the last date can cost preferred college choices. The state processes counselling separately from the All India Quota by MCC. Aspirants must register in both if they want AIQ and state seats.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

Candidates must meet the eligibility norms fixed by DMER Tamil Nadu. The main conditions are listed below.

• Must have qualified NEET MDS 2026 with the required percentile.
• Must hold a BDS degree from a recognised dental college.
• Must have completed the compulsory rotating internship by the cut-off date.
• Must meet Tamil Nadu nativity or eligibility as per state rules.
• Must be registered with the Dental Council of India or state council.

How to Register for TN NEET MDS 2026 Round 1 Counselling?

Candidates must complete the steps listed on the DMER portal. Registration, choice filling and fee payment are done online.

1. Visit the official portal at tnmedicalselection.net.
2. Click on the NEET MDS 2026 Round 1 counselling link.
3. Register using NEET MDS roll number, date of birth and mobile number.
4. Fill personal, academic and category details in the online form.
5. Upload scanned copies of the required documents in the given format.
6. Pay the counselling registration fee through online payment modes.

The fee is non-refundable once paid to the authority.

How Many Rounds Are There?

Tamil Nadu NEET MDS counselling 2026 is held in multiple rounds. DMER holds Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and a Stray Vacancy Round. Seat allotment in each round is based on merit, choices and reservation. Candidates who miss Round 1 can still try later rounds. However, Round 1 offers the widest choice of colleges and seats.

MDS Specialisations Offered in Tamil Nadu

State dental colleges offer nine recognised MDS specialisations. These include Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics. Others cover Prosthodontics, Periodontology and Conservative Dentistry. Oral Pathology, Public Health Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry are also offered. Oral Medicine and Radiology completes the specialisation list.

Seat Allotment Basis

Seat allotment follows the rank list published by DMER Tamil Nadu. The authority checks rank position, preferences filled and reservation category. Seat availability in each college and course is also considered. Allotted candidates must report to the college with original documents.
