Remarks

The college, being the first ranked NIT in the country, is up to it's mark in placements and opportunities. However, the college faculties and admin are very conservative and controlling. They keep information from the students and have strict rules which makes college life less interesting.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is very flexible and independent. However, the college still follows similar course structure for many years now. Exam structure depends on how the Professor wants to conduct the exam. But usually there are two Cycle Tests and one End semester exam with assignments or projects adding up to total of 100 in a semester.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are high and well earning. My department has an average of 96% placements all in top companies around the world. The college has internship opportunities in companies such as Samsung, Harman, Texas instruments, Larson and Turbo and so on.

College Events

4

The college celebrates almost all cultural and religious festivals throughout the year. It also has cultural fest called Festember and a technical fest called Pragyan which is an ISO certified fest. It also has interdepartment fest called Nittfest, first year's inter hostel fest called Aaveg. All departments have their own symposiums also. Sports competition event called Sportsfete and NCC events and such happens in the two semesters of an year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible for JEE students and fairly expensive for DASA students. A sub category of DASA, DASA-CIWG has fee structure similar to JEE students. There are concessions for reservation category students also.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships given. I haven't applied for any scholarships but I know of students who have received them. The scholarships are told to the students during orientation. They are briefed about on whatsapp and facebook.

Campus Life

3

The sports facilities are really good and maintained. There are many grounds with equipments and facilities given. There are different labs for each subject and proper machines and materials for it. Clubs and teams develop other talents.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel facilities are fairly good. It's not the best infrastructure but livable. The Wi-Fi is not properly distributed, RO drinking water and facilities given are not up to the mark for what we pay for.

Alumni/Alumna

College has a strong alumni network. There are alumni cells which deals with them. They are called for lectures and interactions. They donate and help projects in the campus. Senior students help run the events and clubs, they take in inductions and also guide the junior students.

Faculty

3.5

The department faculties are well educated and experienced. They have high degrees and knows the subject well. Some professors have class structure which makes it interesting, including campus projects and industrial visits while few other professors can't convey the information as well as others.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
