Remarks

Our college doesn't have a big auditorium. But it might be constructed in future. Our college has a well infrastructure. Our college has a very affordable fee structure and provides quality education.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course Curriculum is as per the University Grants Commission and is very apt. The exam structure is end semester exam happening every semester.There are news that mid semester exams will be introduced soon.

Placement Experience

Placements are good in our college. Our college provides internships to those who clear all the criteria of the same. We have a very active Placement Cell in our college providing internship and placements.

College Events

We have department wise fests and events celebrated every year by the respective departments. We have an annual fest organized every year. The societies and departments of the colleges conducts workshops and events for students interest regularly.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. The fee structure of every college of University of Delhi is feasible. It varies from course to course but are very affordable for every category of students. The fees for some professional course can be high.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college doesn't have any scholarship or loan facilities as such. But the students of very poor background can be waived of for their academic fees upon proper investigation. Students have to present proper documentation.

Campus Life

We have many facilities for extracurricular, labs, sports etc. We have a big sports ground. We have a sports room as well. We have labs for different courses. We have seminar rooms as well. The respective rooms have proper facilities and equipment.

Hostel Facilities

I haven't opted for hostel. Our college doesn't have a hostel. Students opt for PG, flats, etc available around the college premises. It might be possible that the college can have hostel facilities in future.

External Expense: Rs.7000 - Rs.10000

Alumni/Alumna

We have a well known alumni network such as actor Siddhartha Malhotra, Gautam Rode etc. The seniors are very helpful and interactive. They help us will taking admission, clearing all the required procedures.

Admission

I cleared the cut off criteria of interested course. I visited the college on the required date and got my documents verified. After all the official procedures, I paid the fees and got admission in the college.

Faculty

Faculty is excellent and highly qualified professors. We have professors from JNU, DU and other universities. They are at a least Post Graduate in their qualifications and even some have doctorate degrees.

Kamala Nehru College: Where Opportunity awaits

Likes

I really liked the environment of the college as there was a diverse set of students coming from across the country.
The faculty was top notch and was very dedicated and knowledgeable. If we faced any issue they would come up to help us deal with it.
Also i liked the infrastructure of the college as they recently added a new building and have improved a lot in sports equipments and facilities.

Dislikes

The admin section of the college is very slow and it is a hassle to deal with them. Half a time they are either on a break or on lunch.
There is sometimes non availability of chairs in classrooms like there are approx 40 chairs in each classroom but if the strength of the class is more then we have to borrow it from the next classroom.
Also you will have to take up some additional course which sometimes feel unnecessary but its not only in this particular college but in all the colleges under University of Delhi.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

My college was a girl's college. There are maximum 60students in a class. Prints were quite cheap in the college cafe.
There were many fest functions in my college. I also participated in the dance fest in my first year. We also used to go on picnics from college.
India's chief guest at the annual function was M Venkaiah Naidu.

Dislikes

College fees were very high for general category people.
The behavior of many teachers was quite rude and arrogant as if they were teaching us for free.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

Infrastructure of the college is very up-to-date.
College crowd is very active and diverse, giving opportunity to learn and explore.
Teachers are very well educated and friendly towards the students.

Dislikes

Sports facilities at the college need to be improved.
Few teachers methods of teaching are traditional and outdated.
There is strict criteria for attendance, to maintain 66.7 percent

Placement Experience:

Final your students are eligible for the campus placement. Companies visited are HDFC Bank, Zomato, Swiggy, mahindra,EY, Deloitte and others. Highest package was around 30 lacs per annum and the average package is around 4 lakhs. Job profiles were mostly business analyst, research and development, PR and others. I will prepare for civil services examinations after clearing my graduation.

Likes

Our placement services is efficient and effective which always comes up with quality companies in terms of employment and package.
We have solid infrastructure which includes medical rooms, basketball ground, main ground, fest ground etc.
Our faculties expert in their teaching of respective subject where the teaching method is technology based and mentorship quality is demand based

Dislikes

Our course curriculum is relevant but sometimes it lacks little practical learning.

Placement Experience:

Student set in the placement from 5th semester where where is companies visited college for the campus placement such as KPMG, Zomato Deloitte, etc and number of offers made were not explicitly disclosed by the college and highest package was 25 lakhs and average package was 4 lakhs and profile offered were finance, marketing, etc around 70% students placed from my college and my plans after the graduation is to pursue PHD.

KMC in my words

Likes

I liked the environment and the crowd of the college, and also my professors. Like seriously they are so helpful and kind
Also what I like about this college is that it's liberal unlike other colleges of North campus
I love the ashoka lawn and the big ground in front of the gym

Dislikes

I hate the staff, especially the technical staff ( Ankita Jain ), I went to her with erp portal issue and she just didn't look after my issue properly and sent me away. It was totally unexpected. She must be removed from her position.
The canteen staff, I didn't like their behaviour
Some of the seniors are shit and not helpful

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate it 9 out of 10. The reason is simple, whatever my professors teach and everything that is there in my syllabus is really helpful for my future. Not just that, they way lectures are delivered by the professors is just awesome

An idiot's guide around college

Likes

environment of my college is far better than all the other colleges I have been to, there is zero to none chances of there ever being something unsafe on campus
maintenance of my college is taken very seriously, in only my 1st month of attending college ii saw precautions being taken due to heavy flooding in the college campus
accessibility is one of the things in my college that is so serious and provided with such care that it feels weird when outside campus no such accessibility is not to be seen

Dislikes

there is little to no room for giving students relaxibility in situations of difficulty during talks of giving a leave or not

philosophy as va discipline covers mostlt all the subjects related to humanities, it'll widen your knowledge and you thinking abillity more than that of a oridinary student, the job market is quite difficult for this course

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Likes

College provides a free environment for sports.
It is ragging free college and many anti ragging laws are here
One of the best features of our college is it in origanising seminar time to time.

Dislikes

There is a issue in time table uncertain classes are a problem for us
So high attendance criteria makes us in trouble.
There are not hostal facility which make a critical situation.

I chose the course because I want to become ias.approximately 100students in class . . Many proofesser are highly educated like PhD ma etc our faculty offers many opportunities.There are 6 semester in 3 years and 2 in each year .it is normal to crack the exam but hard to get High marks

Ramjas the heaven on earth

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.

SBSC - Insights and thoughtful

I applied for other colleges such as Banaras Hindu University and Jamia Millia Islamia but and got confirm the admission there but I choose this college over others because of course. No I didn't get rejection from any other college. The admission process is through commerce allocation system and eligibility is 12th Plus and exam expected are common University entrance test which is most favoured and given by the students and cut off for this course is around 730 out of 800 and my admission experience is fantastic where I am able to exploi different things in the college in terms of society and other activities too....Read More

My experience at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College so far !!

To get admission into any college of University of Delhi you need to appear in CUET ( Common University Entrance Exam ). Cutoffs vary from college to college depending on how many students apply for that college. I simply chose SBSC over other colleges i was eligible for because it was the best option i had and since i didn't want to go to a girls college so preferred SBSC over DRC and IP and also over ARSD, SGGSCC and all other colleges at this level. I also got admitted in christ Bangalore ( Central Campus ) and Narsee Monjee ( Mumbai Campus ). But these institutions didn't seem worth it and Delhi University in general has a better reputation....Read More
