College is awesome I hope I’ll love it more with passing time it has given me a lot and using these opportunities I hope I’ll able to do something great and make my institute proud about it and I really love it from the deep of my heart

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very nice. But we have 85% attendance for good grades that is bit illogical and we have to appear 8 semesters in these 4 years two semester a year and depending upon our performances we will be given grades.

Placement Experience

There is a huge opportunity like google and Microsoft even come here for placement as nit and iit are the premier institute of India so there is a huge job opportunity and most of the candidates gets placed if he is deserving also students go for internship for a better knowledge in companies of India

We have technical fest named innovision where people all over the India comes to learn and participate in the technical competition this time famous singer Gajendra Verma came here in the technical fest we have garden feast few days before we also have cultural fest where students perform and it is attended by many

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible like we have to pay 2 lakh per annum but we do have scholarship facilities like if parents income is less than 1 lakh then we have to pay 75 thousand a year and if income is less than 5 lakh per annum then we have to pay 1lakh 25 thousand and it is a good concept needy people also gets loan from the bank

Fees and Financial Aid

Students whose parents income is more than 5 lakhs have to pay 2 lakh per annum income within 1 to 5 lakhs has to pay 1lakh 25 thousand and if his/her parents income is less than a lakh then he/she has to pay 75 lakh per annum and he can also ask for loan from banks

We have all labs facilities cricket ground table tennis basketball court badminton court football court physical education NCC nss and clubs regarding dance club coding club photography club music club singing club dancing club etc

Hostel Facilities

Yes I have opted hostel we are given a room for 2 people for second years onwards we’ll get single room.and the mess is also good here. The infrastructure is very good here that’s why it is ranked as the no 1 nit in India.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are very helpful they guide us properly helps us in studies we all are given a mentor to discuss about our problems. We can ask they for help we also are given with tutorial class to complete our backlogs

Admission

I appeared Jee main I got qualified with a good rank and through jossa counselling I got a seat here in chemical engineering. I appeared the exam after 12 but I am a repeater means I went to Kota for coaching after 12.

Faculty

Faculty are nice.They come in time. They teach properly they prefer slides than manual black board teaching some classes are boring where students prefer sleeping but until you’re disturbing a teacher he has no problem with your activities in class

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Likes

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Have collabs with IBM, Samsung, Capgemini for RnD and NUS singapore , University of North Texas
Our college has hosted International Conferences like IEEE InGAARS 2025and Indocrypt 2025, where scientists had came from NASA, ISRO, all IITs, Foreign Universities, etc
Exposure is Good. The teachers here put efforts to teach and research. Unlike other colleges where teachers comes and roll out PPTs, here every teacher teaches on Board explaining everything properly

Dislikes

Few teachers speak in Odia accent, so it takes couple weeks to adjust
Campus is kind of small (36acres), but its good area for a IIIT, considering IIIT delhi is just 25 acres
3 occupancy hostels for 1st years (same goes for any other NIT/IIIT), but they have a option of single rooms from 2nd year

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem, students are eligible almost 100 companies visited including IBM, VISA, Infosys, DE Shaw etc. Highest is 63 LPA and avg is 12-13LPA 90% placements I may consider doing MBA if I dont get very big package

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. The Admission steps include 1)register and appear for jee mains 2) Get jee rank and register on the Josaa Portal 3) Fill college and branch choices 4) seat allotment in rounds; upload documents and pay seat acceptance fees 5) final admission after physical document verification at Nit Rourkela....Read More

Discovering NIT Rourkela

I chose NIT rourkela based on my JEE rank, as this was the highest rated college I could get.It had good placements, had a high NIRF ranking and in comparsion to my other choices was the clear winner. The admission process takes place through JOSSA counselling for B.Tech.After being alloted a college on site registration takes place followed by hostel allocation and branch admission , a procedure that lasts about 6-10 hours. The course is based on josaa counselling seat allotment. You have to clear jee mains with high marks and percentile to get into this college. You know the competition of jee mains and advanced. Internship-first step to placement.

The course requires us to clear jee mains in which the cutoff is above 90 percentile for general category. The form is found on NTA website and fees is about 1000 rs for general category. The exam happens twice in a year and by difficulty level is pretty descent...with maths the hardest and toughest.
