Remarks
The all I have in my mind about my college are positive thoughts. In modern days most of the colleges sees their own interests but a ideal educational system's main motive should be giving the best possible educational facilities to the students and it should be affordable by each and every students. And I think my college is able to provide that oppertuinty.
Course Curriculum Overview
As my stream deals with power plants mainly we have to study both electrical and mechanical subjects like thermodynamics, heat transfer, power system, engg. mechanics, control system,electrical machines, etc. In the course duration of 4years we have 8 semesters(2 in each year) and befor every semester we have to give 2 internals or class tests.
Placement Experience
The placements and job oppertunities are more as our college is renouned for its meritous and highly ambitious students and most companies has their eyes on the us. But its not that if you study here you will get a asured job. But opportunities are definitely high as many companies look for the best from us. Yes, our college provides internship but I haven't done any. So, no such experience.
College Events
CIIPPUS is our freshers fest celebrated in Salt lake campus. U-Turn is also our freshers fest but it is celebrated combinedly in both Jadavpur and Salt Lake campus. Some other depertments has their departmental freshers. Arena is our sports event where different departments take part in sports tournaments like football, cricket, carrom, TT, etc. Sanskriti is our cultural fest which is a 7 day event. Srijan is our technical fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Our university is an autonomous university. And it is to provide education which is our right. So, the fees is kept as low as possible so that anyone can get their educational rights. As most of people you might not belive that in 4 years we have to pay just around 10000 INR. And students who are from poor financial background gets stipend from college.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, our college provides scholarship facilities to the one those who needs these. I not being on that poor financial background I am not able to get scholarship but I heard from my friends that it is more than enough to complete the college and pay its fees.
Campus Life
Our college apart from studies provides different scopes to follow our passion. Our college have good infrastructure providing vollyball ground, football ground, cricket ground, Basketball ground, TT board, Carrom board, Chess clubs, Coding club, Photography club, Music club, Robotics club, Dance clubs,etc.
Alumni/Alumna
Our alumni network is very big because in 4 years this college makes it feel like our home and how much any one achive they never forget this place. They try to become a part of each and every fest of our college and most of the funds comes from allumnis. Apart from this they provides scopes for the students on different aspects like providing vocational training, projects, internships, and most importantly inform us about the modern day oppertunities in different platforms and helps us to make decisions of our career.
Admission
I appeared in WBJEE and my rank was 10116 in Gen and 396 in SC. I opted in the counselling process and according to my preffered choices of colleges and streams and my rank I got alloted a seat in Jadavpur University for BE in Power Engineering.
Faculty
Jadavpur is well renouned for its top class faculties. Apart from that I feel that our depertment has some of the finest faculties who are realy helpful on our studies and also on practical experience providing us with projects and so on.
