Remarks

Negative remarks: Don't have any digital mode of complain and feedback facilities. Most of complaints are not even discussed well due to unavailability of acknowledgement facilities. positive remarks: Provide marks relaxation facilities for unlucky and/ or mediocre students.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

Standard Course curriculum , suggested by AICTE, is followed. SLIET, being deemed university, conducts one midsem exam, weighing 30 Marks, and 2 quiz , each of 10 Marks and final semester exam of 50, totaling to 100.

Placement Experience

3.5

Jobs and placement opportunities are seen to be increasing every year. National level companies visit college for placement. I don't have any known knowledge about internships provided by college.

College Events

3.5

1. Social fest : It is related to social activities. 2.Techfest, The Technical fest , this includes event such as Robowar, LFR, Drone, coding, and many more. 3.madhuram, The Cultural fest, this includes cultural program.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is Feasible, for b.tech degree students it is about 30,000 per semester , including 20,000/- tuition fee, rest being hostel charge , development fee and security. monthly mess bill is of 2500/-.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides tuition fee waiver for students on the basis of rank list. It has scholarship cell for verification of scholarship documents however, incharge of this cell lacks coordination and cooperation nature.

Campus Life

3.5

There is a list of extracurricular activities. College has ground for cricket & football, has court for badminton, volleyball & basketball. There are many sports clubs. Each department has their own rich and flourishing labs.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostel infrastructure is good, for all student except final year students each room is shared by three students. For final year students single bed room is provided. All necessary facilities are provided. Food qualities are not always same and praiseworthy. And also institute do not act strictly in this regards.

Alumni/Alumna

College has alumni cell , known as sliet alumni cell, sac , it has large network alumni working worldwide. SAC organizes alumni meet every year at its regional. Most of alumni who are contact are always helpful as they provide guidance for placement and future planning.

Admission

Through Josaa / CSAB counselling on the basis of jee mains ranks. 1. First seat in jee mains ( now NTA ) exams. 2. Appear in normal counselling round conducted by Josaa ,if seat is not allotted in this round then special counselling is conducted by CSAB. 3. After allotment of seat we have to report the college on said date for document verification.

Faculty

2.5

Most of classes are conducted by M.tech pursuing students, who lack teaching skills. Ph.d pursuing students also take classes. Most of Professors have good knowledge of their core subject and they also visit other colleges to represent SLIET.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
