Remarks

College management is good and they make sure everyone is placed. Also, the campus is really good but it is overcrowded, more than 10000 for 4 years.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The department is good and the faculties are decent, and while choosing the faculties from 2nd Semester it is better to consult the seniors. Research plays a big part here because most faculties go for research it is better to ask the faculty or sometimes faculties ask themselves. Placement wise for mechanical it's difficult and since there are a large number of students and more above 9 pointers, they are called more often. So we end up with IT jobs. Few faculties do organize based on the course and how much they have completed it.

Placement Experience

2.5

For mechanical - Hyundai Mobis, CSOT, Bajaj, Titan Steps - Aptitude and Mechanical test, GD, Interview Almost all are placed since IT companies come. And yes campus does everything they can to make sure we get placed.

College Events

5

Tech Fest - Gravitas Its good where various clubs hold many events and call industry experts to help them out. Other events related to robotics like wars are done, and few games are also there. Cultural Fest - Riviera One of the best fests in India, a lot of celebrities come and have a music show. There is a dance competition between different colleges. Few events are there also sports competitions again between colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Depends on what phase we were called for and different phases have different fees based on rank in VITEEE. The mode of payment is DD or Online via NEFT/RTGS. No additional fees are there and that's good. Yes, a proper receipt is given so that students can avail of loans.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, scholarships were given for district toppers of each district in TN so that they could come up and also depends on family income.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is good with a very big ground and gyms available. There are around 4-5 basketball courts, a cricket net and a football ground. All are really good. The gender ratio is good and labs are good and equipped with everything needed. There are more than 50 clubs and clubs are good to help with bonding.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel is really good Best Blocks after 1st year - A,C,D,E,G,K,L and Q for boys. Washrooms available on every floor which is common, around 8 washrooms and 8 bathing rooms, also stone is in place for washing clothes, there is also a washing machine facility which is paid. If we go outside there are washing and ironing shops that charge 10 for both facilities together per cloth. Room types - 1,2,3,4 and 6 both AC and Non-AC.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni network is decent, the seniors are the guides in completing 4 years, as they help in faculties and also being part of big events as they have better contacts than the freshers.

Admission

For VIT we had to give the VITEEE exam and I got a rank of around 32000. So since I am a south Indian VIT was a natural option and also heard from the elderly in my family that it is good for Mechanical engineering and opted for the course. So after the results, we were invited to attend the counseling. So we were made to sit in a hall and were called according to our rank. But before the counseling, we were asked to get a DD amounting to what phase we were selected to attend. So when my chance came we submitted the DD and were given the offer letter from the University. After this, we were asked to have our photos clicked and give our signature for ID cards, where we were given a letter to choose the Hostel Room and Mess we needed, and we could choose this later after we went home and send it to them as a post.

Faculty

3.5

In the department, around 50+ faculties are there and help a lot with research if asked. They have good knowledge in the courses and assignments and projects are related to it. Most of the faculties have industry experience and that helps us in understanding the course when given examples.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.
