It is one of the best and biggest University of Odisha.Every alumni of Utkal University feels proud to be a part of it.By becoming a student of this University anyone can beautifiy his or her career.Not only this institute provides education on specific subjects, it also provided practical knowledge about life.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure of Utkal University is good, but it need to be more focused on research in some of it's department.Lecturers and students have to spend more time in doing research.Labs were very interesting, while sometimes exam became hectic.
Placement Experience
The Utkal University provides less placement and job opportunities.Half of it's departments does not provide placements and job opportunities.It provides internship in good institutes through which students get good practical knowledge, and they will have a fantastic experience.But it doesn't provide any stipend for internship.Students has to manage it.
College Events
Events celebrated in Utkal University are 1.Department seminars 2.National Seminars 3.Workshop programme 4.Alumni meet 5.Sports 6.Annual functions 7.Exploration on different topics 8.Festivals like Holi, Ganesh puja, Saraswati Puja, teacher's day and birthday of great persons of Odisha and India. Utkal University arranges all the events in a grand way and most of the students participate in it.During seminars and workshops it also allows the students of other institutions.
Fees and Financial Aid
Students get medhabruti scholarship provided by the state government.There is another named as pranakrushna parija scholarship that students get.SC and ST students can apply for prerana scholarship which is also provided by state government.There is another scholarship for girls named as Single girl child scholarship.
Campus Life
The extracurricular activities, Labs and sports organised by specific departments of Utkal University are fabulous.It provides knowledge, entertainment and a good opportunity to be a socialised one.In Utkal University the gender ratio is 50 percentage.Students of this University belongs to different race, religion,ethinicity and social status, but they celebrate all the occasions together.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms and infrastructures of old hostels are average, but in case of new hostels are beautiful and spacious than old hostels.During P.G.1st year, 2 students have to share one room.But in 2nd year each student get a single room.And also m.phil students get one room for each.The hostel rent is feasible.Students has to pay approximate 8 to 9 thousands for rent for 2 years.
Alumni/Alumna
The Utkal University has a big alumni network and it includes large number of senior students.Each department has alumni group.They have created a Facebook group, through which students get knowledge about job opportunities, career etc.Alumnies also take part in the development of University.
Admission
Utkal University is a renowned, famous and one of the oldest institute in Odisha.It's campus is of 399 acres which is situated in the heart of Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha.It is the largest affiliating institute in the country and provide post graduate on many subjects.
Faculty
All the faculties are qualified.More than 50% of faculties have completed their Phds in their respective subjects.Not only they are interested to teach a particular course, rather they make the students interested towards the topic.
