Remarks

All in all, I can't really complain about my experiences until now.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

As with any VTU curriculum, the syllabus is a bit out of date but the introduction of cloud computing, Python, etc. was a lifesaver. The authorities are more than willing to conduct industrial visits and the placement cell is open to student suggestions.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement of the college increases each year with several of the students getting placed in well-paying jobs.

College Events

4

The college conducts ethnic day, branch fests, annual fests, sports day, etc. The annual fest sees huge participation from the students. The fest of 2019 lasted for 3 days which included a day for ethnic wear, a day titled "FUNKY DAY" where the students get an excuse to sport a goofy mix up of all their clothes.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees may sound different to students with different backgrounds but I could, fortunately, afford it. The college accepts fee payment in DD cheque. The fee structure is different for different entrance exams and also different for management seats.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are several scholarship opportunities for different scheduled categories and also for students from the different economical background.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus environment is best described as lively. There are some days that feel like years but where doesn't it? The gender ratio varies each year but it's more or less balanced. Students enrolled here are largely from Karnataka. Inter-branch sports meet is the event to look forward to which generally lasts for a month. Our college also has an IEEE and CSI chapter where several students are enrolled.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students are helpful in an academic sense and also emotionally. Their college experiences act as a guide to the juniors.

Admission

I got it into the college through CET. Even though I had a low ranking(37k), I was able to get admission into the Information Science branch. As the college is related to the National Institute of Engineering, I thought the pool campus placement would help me out.

Faculty

4.5

The lecturers are dedicated to the subjects and prioritize student education. They are always willing to clarify any and all doubts regarding the subject. The ISE branch consists of 9 teaching faculty, some of them pursuing PhDs. The teaching staff is very understanding.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
