Remarks

For me personally I have many positive experiences to share, right from academics to sports. I participated in multiple sports and cultural events where the lectures really supported me in a great way. They helped in preparation for masters as well. Overall I had a good experience in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is set by the university and followed by the the colleges across university. For 3 year under graduate program each year is divided into two semesters of six of months each i.e., in total six semesters. Promotion to the next semester is based on an internal assessment by the college and one external assessment by the university.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college has its own placement cell where many renowned companies come to offer jobs, which creates a real good opportunity for the job seekers after graduation. Apart from that Delhi university has its own placement cell which again invites renowned companies every year and which is open for all the students across university.

College Events

4.5

The college celebrates a wide range of events every year. It organizes annual fest comprised of all the departments of the college, also it organizes annual sports meet which is comprised of multiple sports events. Not only this each department organizes their respective fests like commerce fest, science fest, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

This is a government run college so fees are not very high, it's ranges from Rs. 10000 to Rs. 25000 across streams, depending upon the type of discipline / course opted by the students. Also this is all inclusive fee i.e., nothing else is charged alert from this fee per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers scholarship for the students who took up a merit test, it's purely voluntary. It's scholarship amount is around Rs. 10000 per annual. Apart from this banks do offer loans for students.

Campus Life

4.5

Infrastructure is one of the best part of this college, it has almost all the labs i.e., physics, chemistry, biology, home science etc. The labs are well versed with all required equipments and one of the best in the university. Also the college has one of the largest grounds in the whole university.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

As far as hostels are concerned, this college doesn't have any hostel facility on its own, however there are PGs available around the college at reasonable prices. I am not quite sure about girls PGs though but definitely boys can stay easily around the corner.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is also good, College organises alumni meet every year where they facilitates achievers, cultural programs are being organized, lunch etc. This provides a platform for ex-stduents to meet each other and their families, really gives a sense of belongingness.

Admission

Shivaji college is a part of university of Delhi so it follows the same rule and regulations which is received from the university. Except for some courses like English (h) and BBE rest of the admission are based on merit list only. For earlier courses there is an entrance examination which is again as per university rules.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is very well experienced, resources full, knowledgeable and cooperation. It's an off campus college but the fault is very decent and cooperative. Students gets ample amount of time to interact with the lectures to clarify their doubts, which really helps in understanding the concepts well.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.
