Remarks

VITs classroom infrastructure is not that good compared to other top tier colleges. However, this does not apply to the newer Academic Buildings that are being built. VIT has a very big campus that you can roam around. It also has canteens, Dominos, and Nescafe stalls within the campus. So you get a lot of options in terms of eating. VIT also has a shuttle system to travel anywhere around the campus by paying a fee of 15 per trip.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

First Year at VIT looks pretty hectic when compared to schooling culture. You have Labs and Theory classes every day and the internals arrive almost at the start or end of every month. So it does get pretty hectic at the start. But then you get used to it. Course Structure is pretty well designed at VIT and thanks to FFCS(Fully flexible credit system) you yourself can choose when course to study at what point of time in your journey within the college.

Placement Experience

4.5

VIT has a place in Limca Book of records for placing the maximum number of students in a single shot. So VIT assures students getting placed in companies. Companies like Microsoft, TCS, Amazon, McKinsey, JP Morgan, and various other MNC's visit our college during placements. Even some startups visit our college for recruiting interns and full-time job candidates. The stipend ranges anywhere between 3k-15k per month.

College Events

4

VIT has its Technical Fest named Gravitas, where various colleges come and participate. And it also has its best and biggest Cultural fest named Rivera which is the 5th biggest Cultural Fest hosted by any Indian College. Various Celebrities visit our college and perform and students from various countries also come together to participate in the fest. It celebrated grandly with almost One week rest to academics. The technical fest also has various technical competitions to participate and battle

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure depends on the rank you secure in VITEEE. VIT has the Category system. Where students of a certain range of rank belong to a category and pay the academic fees accordingly. Cat-1 students need to pay around 2lakhs for the course I am pursuing meanwhile Cat-5 students need to pay 5lakhs for the same course. Hostel and Mess Charges are additional.

Fees and Financial Aid

VIT provides scholarships to those fellows who secure a rank under 500 in VITEEE. You get a scholarship based on your rank and need to maintain 75% attendance in all semesters to avail the same. VIT doesn't as such support any loans. But the banks know about the college and tend to provide loan regarding the same

Campus Life

2.5

There is at least 1 girl to every 3 boys here at VIT. So the gender ratio isn't bad at all at VIT. Extracurricular activities are greatly supported here at VIT. We have various research labs, sports grounds, Night Labs, Library, Parties. VIT has a huge diversity of people and everyone is friendly with one another. There is no restriction on dressing except that no gender is allowed to wear shorts inside an academic building. So VIT is a great place for Extracurricular Activity

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, I am a hostler The facilities are very good at hostel. 24*7 water and electricity supply. You get Hot Water to bath as well as drink. Dustbins outside your door for easy trash management. The hostel room size depends on the people you are sharing with. You can share your room with 1-5 other people. More people you share with. Bigger the room. You can play box Cricket in the 6-Sharing bedroom. VIT doesn't encourage you to a day boarder unless you are a native citizen of Vellore

Alumni/Alumna

VIT is a no ragging campus. So you will not face any ragging. And the seniors and Alumni are very helpful to students. The alumni visit the college sometimes and hold sessions to guide students through what is trending in the industry and what skills we should know. The seniors are always ready to help students with any doubt they are capable of clearing.

Admission

You will have to write the VITEEE(Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam) to get admission into VIT after your 12th-grade board exams. Once the results are out, you will get your rank. Then there will be a counseling session conducted where VIT will call candidates rank by rank to admit them into college. You will have to be physically present in any one branch of VIT to get admitted to the college during the counseling process. Live Seats available per course will be displayed in the counseling hall. There is no interview as such. But you will be divided into two phases of counseling depending on your rank.

Faculty

3.5

Almost all the faculty here hold a Doctorate Degree, so they know what they teach. Some faculty are very chill with students while some expect discipline from students. There are very few faculty that are not interested to teach a particular course. But other faculty are friendly and are ready to clear any of your doubts or even to re-teach you the topic again.
