Review of NIT Trichy

For almost four years the college life had been great.

All the course and curriculum are reviewed every year and revised based on the observations. Courses are designed in such a way that it involves theoretical as well as practical exposure. All the laboratories are well equipped and functional. For giving industry exposure the course involves a 2 month mandatory internship.

All the interested students has to appear for a pre placement course and has to qualify in order to sit for placement. There are thouree types of companies which generally visit for campus placement i.e core, software and analytics. Every year around 90% of the interested students get placed in any of the thouree types of companies. Every companies has their own format for selection. General recruitment consists of Online Test, Group task, Personal Interview and finally the selection is made.

There are two tests in general in both semesters namely Cultural - Festember, Nittfest Technical - Pragyan Sports - Sportsfete Mixed - Aaveg (UG 1st year) Festember and pragyan are inter college festivals and one of the biggest college festivals in South india while Nittfest and sportsfete are inter departmental festivals in which all departments fight for their glory. All the tests consists of large scale events and the participation in these is very huge as almost all the technical college from South India participates in events. Pragyan is an ISO certified technical fest. Festember is known for its free pro shows where one the biggest stars come on day 3 of festival. Artists like Vishal Shekhar, Amit Trivedi and Sunidhi Chouhan is one of them.

As per the revised fee from 2016, fee has increased by a massive amount but the students belonging to unpriveleged background at given scholarship. College fee is fully transparent and can be paid by any of the following mode demand draft, cheque or online banking.

Our campus is one of the best campuses. We have all the facilities ranging from educational libraries, sports, shopping complex to 24 hour hour operating computer Lab. There are more than 50 student activity club associated with almost every field. Time to time they participates in different competitions also. Gender ratio used to be very poor earlier but it has improved from this year as AICTE has approved a 14% reservation for girls. College administration is very strict about ragging, sexual harrasment and such issues. Strict action is taken for any student violating the rules.

Yes. All the rooms are sharing based. Each room is shared by 2 peoples and in case if someone wants single rooms they can get by writing application to the hostel office. All the rooms are equipped with free WiFi. Per semester the fee is around 30000.

A separate cell for alumni relationship has been established for better communication between alumnus and student fraternity. During the first month of admission college organized a Orientation program for first years which is held for alignment of fresher's for better performance and each student is guided by one of the seniors.

After qualifying JEE Mains, we had to fill out choices for counseling and based on that I got NIT Trichy Civil Engineering. Counseling process is online and the candidate has to submit their documents and administration fee for first semester thourough demand draft to one of the NITs for verification and finally the seat is allotted. For the admission process the rest of the fee and hostel fee is paid at the allotted college and the documents are finally verified once again.

Faculties are recruited based on their merit and thourough recruitment process. There is a proper heirarchy in the department. Each department has on average 30 to 40 faculties. Lectures are well prepared and delivered thourough required mode needed. All the faculties have expertise in their field and are continuously evaluated before promotion.
