Remarks

In a nutshell, I liked my college a lot but didn't like a few things like a section of the crowd, few of my teachers. Canteen was great in the 2nd year but sucked in the 1st and final year. Washrooms could have been much better and cleaner as per my view.

Entrance Preview

I didn't take any entrance examination, I was admitted to the college via the cut-off list. I opted for this college as it was nearby my home and it was my preferred course.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum according to me was a bit haywire as there was no semester system during my time in college. The curriculum lacked planned structure and management. It made the learning process difficult and increased the workload of the students.

Internships Opportunities

During my stay at the college, I never heard of any internship program. Even if it was there, I wasn't aware of it.

Placement Experience

4

The placement cell was good overall, good companies like HCL, Bajaj used to come for the hiring. Private banks also used to come, but not many students from my batch got placed anywhere. However, Students from other courses did get hired at good packages.

College Events

3.5

There were Literature Festivals, Dance Festivals, Food Festivals which I mostly remember, although the most famous was the theater society which won many awards at different levels and made the college proud. They all happened in an enthusiastic manner and the participation was also great.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure overall in DU itself is very reasonable. My fee was for the total course was hardly 15000 INR, so looking at it overall, it was really feasible.Almost everyone from any section could afford to study from my college without worrying about the fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

Not sure about this either as I don't know about any loan facilities and never asked for it from any college staff. There was a bank in the college premises itself but not really sure about this facility.

Campus Life

4

It was fun while it lasted, I still miss the good old days. The gender ratio was very healthy and diversified as well. We had a huge ground and a huge library, probably the biggest in the University which was a proud thing to boast of! Sports and debates were really rich as compared to other colleges.

Hostel Facilities

3

My college didn't have a hostel so can't really write about the facilities and the mess food. Students from other cities used to stay as residential Paying Guests nearby and shared as per their convenience and comfort. Not much to write or ponder about here.

Alumni/Alumna

I didn't talk much with my seniors and wasn't in contact with them constantly but there were a few with whom I talked frequently and they were helpful and supportive. Not in contact with them as of now but during my tenure, they were good.

Exam Structure

The summer exam structure was quite good but the winter session made life difficult as they were held in early January as we froze badly while writing the exams. Coming to the college early on a January morning was a tedious task for me and writing exams on such days was even worse.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty was top-notch despite the college being an off-campus college. The faculty was great and was always helpful, teachers were highly experienced and lectured with great enthusiasm. They gave great analysis and ideas about the topics they taught and proved to be really handful.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
