Remarks

Good Remarks- The College lives upto what it describes itself as. Bad Remarks - This goes to all Colleges under the University of Delhi - That since students are given admission to courses solely based on Merit as such there is a lack of proper screening of the individual as such certain students lack progressive mentality and growth thus ending up being racist and very non sensible to social issues.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

CBCS (Choice Based Credit System). Regarding Subject Matter the curriculum is great for students opting for Honours paper as the subject is taught in-depth. The curriculum gives option for A General Elective Subject as such a student can opt to undertake a subject of his/her choice from other departments other than their major paper. Industrial Visits and Projects are frequently organised by the College- Departments.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It’s a Government owner college as such course fees per semester is a nominal. - 10000 to 150000 on a average. No additional fees are charges upon students. For students belonging to Economically Weaker section there is a fee Concession given to them. The College provides transparency on the fee breakdown.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does not offer scholarships to students. The college fees are very nominal as such I do not feel the need to offer any such scholarships to students.

Campus Life

4

Gender Ratio- there is reservation of seats for women in colleges under The University of Delhi. There are numerous Women Only colleges in The University Of Dehi and no men only colleges. Workshops- the various college under the University of Delhi offer a various number of workshops every week, as such it depends on the students wether they opt for them or not. Ethnicity/Race: there is reservation of seats for Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes and Economically Weaker sections of the society. Sexual Orientation- Most college have Gender Forums and organise events based on gender related issues. Economic status- the students of The University of Delhi come from polar ends of economic statuses as admission to the colleges are based on merit/ marks attained by the student in their class 12 examinations only and no other factor.

Hostel Facilities

4

No I have not opted for college hostel. Note- There is only a boys hostel provided by the college. I stay at a rented Apartment near the Delhi University Campus. PG’s around campus which provide quality standards range from 12k to 30k.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni are helpful provided one seeks their help. Notable alumni like Amitabh Bachchan often donate to the college.

Faculty

4.5

9-10 lecturers per Department. Qualification - Most teachers hold a PhD. The lectures are well equipped and have a varied range of expertise and experience in various fields of their knowledge. The Lectures often go for studies while working as such brings in new a progressed knowledges to be imparted to the students.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting
