Remarks

Overall College experience in terms of facilities (lab, hostel, campus), faculty was good except for the fact that placement cell was not very good and effective. Most of the students had to look for jobs outside the campus and it was quite a challengingAware that college has improved placements over the years now.

Entrance Preview

I took CET exams for getting admission to engineering college.I stood 3506 rank for engineering 5000+ I always had a interest towards mathematics subject and

Internships Opportunities

College Internship is done with the college premise. Didn't get opportunity to get the feel of industry and work culture, skill set or relevant experience.Internship was done internally within the lab facility available. subject was more internal to the specialisation chosen (electronics). Programming used to develop the project was based on micro processor as we didn't have prior knowledge on C, C++ or other industry relevant languages

Placement Experience

2

Placement and job opportunities was very limited during our 1997. Most of the placements were done in Bangalore colleges. Colleges didn't have enough prior coaching to students on approach for exams.

College Events

4.5

Rotary fest College day fest All the above fests were intra college. Apart from these, college used to represent in inter-college cultural and sports activities.Participating colleges were from chikamagalur, davangere, tumkur, tiptur.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was very affordable as i had got admission with the merit seat. Rs.4500-5000/ per annum.Fees were fixed by the government.Infact, fee structure for 1993 was increased around Rs.500-1000 compared to previous batches.Students from SC/ST had lower fee structure and were provided academic books and other facilities at a lower prices.

Fees and Financial Aid

NoneNot availed any loan facility nor scholarship was offered.I haven't come across any student OR in my knowledge that anyone being offered scholarship.Students from SC/ST had lower fee structure and were provided academic books and other facilities at a lower prices, but not familiar on the scholarships offered

Campus Life

4.5

Annual day event provided equal opportunities across gender, religion to showcase the talent. College day events were always eventful where teams of particular specialisation were competing against students from branch/specialisations.Apart from the annual day event, college encouraged sports activities, social responsibilities (ex support for blood donation through Rotary clubs).Student Politics also had its support in the initial days as there were elections to represent student community with office bearers and also represent the college for cultural fests, sports activities.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities had good accomodation and mess for about 700 students.Students were on a sharing accomodation in the 1st 3 years. Every student had a private room to concentrate on the studiesAll accomodations were with reading table, cot and chairs.Food was served in mess catering to both vegeterian and non-vegeterian students. Non-vegeterian food was served once a week or fortnight on payment for special coupons

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni has been very active once a year for senior pros. Although, i haven't been able to participate.Few of my batchmates do participate in the alumni once a year during Dec'15 month. Aware of the happenings in Alumni through other forums or social mediaAlumni's who have excelled in their professional careers have been facilitated during this events.

Exam Structure

Curicullum was based on semister exams. Internals were periodic for all the theoritical subjects for 25 marks.Scoring for internals was based on the average of 2 best scores from 3 tests for all the subjects.

Faculty

3.5

Excellent faculty and labElectronics and communications was very sophisticated. Each one of the students had an opportunity to experiment, learn the work during the lab sessions. Faculty was very helpful to coach the students during the course. Also, helpful to get the queries clarified even off the class rooms.Never felt the need to take up private tuitions as Faculty were dedicated, focused and not money oriented

Placement Experience:

Excellent placement training and reputed companies visit the campus. I had received offers from three companies which reflects the quality of opportunities available. Placement is one of the college's biggest strength. Student with no backlog and good academic records will get easily placed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The aspects like: we had 2 internal exams in the semester and after completing these internal exams roughly at the 5th month we had practical exam + end semester exams, these exams would be mainly theory based inclusing some conceptual based questions & based on our understanding only, we can able to write the answers. One thing, I would suggest was we shall give more weightage to the practical based learning, that too during our days we were just the beginning of AI & Iot era was effectively going on, if we had some advanced eductaion covering these aspects we would have got the opportunity to shine more in our carrers. As a student, we faced slight diffuclities and challenges matching the real-life happenings with the acdemics, that would be one of the shortcoming I can say.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the curriculum is well planned, balanced and easy to follow. We start with the basics and along with theory there's a good amount of coding practice, assignments, and hands on learning. I like that the course isn't just about passing exams, it also focuses on building skills that will be useful later for internships and placements. So far it feels relevant, practical and not overwhelming for someone who's just starting out.
