Remarks

Wanted to study Biotechnology but not give JEE as I was a Biology student and didn't want to give an entrance exam where you needed to study Mathematics. Vellore Institute of Technology was the next best option.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum was up to date and some professors were really good. However, one of the ways the course was marketed was that it was research-intensive but it wasn't. There were not many opportunities to work in labs before the final year because they needed to accommodate too many thesis students and Ph.D. scholars.

Placement Experience

Very few core companies came to recruit students of Biotechnology. Everyone who sat for placements did get placed but not even 10% were placed in Biotech companies. People got placed in software/ companies that required Biology teachers for online classes for coaching for entrance exams.

College Events

The extracurricular activities and fests were probably the best part of my college life. The diversity in the kind of clubs and chapters in the college was amazing and everyone could find something or the other that they could be a part of. The fests were large scale, 3-4 days long with more than 1000 events each, and well managed.

the classrooms in specialization are air conditioned

the attendance is strict at 75% and subject attendances upto 80%
you cannot exit campus before 3.15 pm under any circumstances

The placements are very decent and they provide internships as early career opportunities as well in 3rd year of studies and the college possess high conversion rates through these internships which support the resume with actual corporate exposure

Calm and Student-Friendly at DMI College of Engineering

Likes

The college provides a friendly and supportive learning environment.
Most faculty members are approachable and helpful, especially when students need academic guidance

Here there is no gender separation like boys and girls should be seperate and stuff like that.
It is a autonomous college so courses are changing regularly with the shift in education
Here we have relative grading system therefore there is no ranking and easy to get good grades

Dislikes

We have to pay yearly fees not semester wise it difficult for low income earning families
Money is collected from students for all events happening in the college.
There is a rush for collection of fees at the start of each year and unpaid students might face absent issues

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are moderate but i don't know much about other courses but for civil engineering the average placed ctc is 3 lakh per annum one or two students got higer package but most of the students got lower package as a fresher.

Dislikes

High fees the government college but charging high fees making it difficult for students from lower income background to access quality education
often have limited seats dealing to intense competition and disappointment for some students
College provide only theoretical knowledge students for practical skills

Placement Experience:

From 5 th semester onwards students are eligible for campus placements. Lots of companies. The highest package is 26 lakhs and the average package is 1.5 lakhs. 98% of students get placed. Doing my best in a career as an entrepreneur.
