It has been awarded as the best private institute for engineering in a row by the ARIIA2019 and by MHRD. It has kept achieving the top spot in the engineering field. Not only the Institute provides you with the excellence in the field of engineering only but also it consists of various clubs and chapters that help a student in their growth and develop their interpersonal skills that help the students in their entire life e.g: SEDS VIT, VITMUN, CREATIVITY CLUB, ANOKHA THE NGO, TEDx VIT, etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course syllabus was always updated with the new changes and it was done at the start of every semester and also in between if there are some major changes to be done. Industry exposure is sufficient since there are a lot of industrial visits held by the faculties in the university. The faculties are all good but there pros and cons of every place. You might find some faculty great and the others bad but I guess that the advantage of a ffcs(fully flexible credit system) through which you have the option to select the faculty you like.
Placement Experience
The placement and job opportunities are great at vit, Vellore. The number of companies appearing at vit crossed the amount of 100 and maybe even 150 in the year 2020 and many more were yet to come but that couldn't happen due to the COVID 19 outbreak. The placement usually happens in stages with the online exam first, then another screening process takes place, then technical exam, interview hr, interview techniques, and then we get selected. But some companies might come and only conduct 2 rounds for the selection. So the process depends from company to company.
College Events
Campus life is great as it has its campus spread out in 250-300 acres of land. Events like riviera and again are really famous and celebrities like Farhan Akhtar, Kenny Sebastian, biwa Kalyan rath, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, lost stories, etc have come.
Fees and Financial Aid
Loan offers are available for students with a family background that have an annual income of less than 40,000 per month. I personally have met many such individuals who have been helped by the respected university.
Campus Life
There is a huge outdoor stadium which consists of a nongym but also vit provides a full ac gym which can be registered on the vit site. The library in vit is considered one of the best libraries in the South and has a really good interior when compared to other engineering colleges in India. The equipment in the elabs meets the expectation of the students. and all the students in the campus have access to the free wifi with their own respective username and password.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel infrastructure is decent for the ac room whereas the nonac room has a problem because of the weather there in vit as it's a college in the South so the preferred room would be ac. For pg, the average amount paid for a single bedroom of fine quality would be 5.5-7 k per month. For a flat it will 12-13 k per month but that's not a problem since it will be shared by 3 people so 4k each.
