Remarks
The college has a very good culture with a diverse amount of students. It is known for its diversity. Another attractive thing Is the plenty of opportunities that VIT presents and we prepare to build ourselves better. An added benefit is that it is an internationally recognized University that gives Students an opportunity to study/work abroad.
Course Curriculum Overview
VIT follows an innovative scheme FFCS- Fully flexible Credit System which allows students to choose teachers and timing of class of their choice. There's a lot of options given to students with the courses the students can opt for. Some of the courses have a lab component in them which helps students have a practical approach to the subject as well. The university is focused on the project component in every course and encourages us to research ideas.
Placement Experience
Over 500 companies visit every year with the maximum package of 50lpa. The placement cell is very active and keeps a track of the students and the companies. The only drawback is that most of the companies are CSE based and fewer core companies. The alumni network is good as well. There are many startups. One of which is Code Park. I've come across many VIT Students which have excelled in the corporate world and working in top companies.
College Events
There are 2 yearly fests- Gravitas (Technical Fest) and Riviera (Cultural Fest). The college has a really good culture and celebrates almost every festival. The fests focus on student chapters and clubs build and organize new events based on the theme of the fest. Riviera is held on a grand level with Bollywood artists to sportspersons coming every year and increasing the excitement.
Fees and Financial Aid
Got a scholarship of 25k per year from College for scoring well in the VITEEE Entrance Examination. This Scholarship is not applicable anymore in our college as of now. (There's a loan also available but I'm not well aware of it.)
Campus Life
The college is very particular about its infrastructure it has to offer. The campus is aptly built with a balance of greenery and buildings. The buildings are considered monuments of Vellore and The Technology Tower is one of the most beautifully built pieces of infrastructure in Vellore. The college provides a huge library and a sufficient amount of labs. There are gyms and sports courts to keep the extracurriculars going as well. It also provides cab facilities within the campus at a nominal rate.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are pretty well maintained and plenty in number. Every year the student's intake increases so the hostels are stuffed. There's good greenery around the hostels and the area is pretty lively. There are strict rules for students in the area with an Intime of 9.30 pm every day. The hostel room is allotted according to CGPA preference.
