Remarks

Reducing the batch size is a must and a lot of problems would be solved. A Little more proactive and lenient sports department would do a world of good for the sports enthusiast. Overall, a memorable experience with immense learning opportunities which might be life-changing for one

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course pattern they follow is from Anna University. They follow the FFCS pattern which is unique. Every student gets an opportunity to choose their own faculty, their own timings of the classes, and the number of subjects to choose in a semester. It's a pretty exciting prospect but only if you're on your toes while booking your slots when the window opens. Otherwise, it could end up in a disaster. But full marks to the college for this unique approach.

Placement Experience

4.5

VIT is known for it's excellent placement record with most of the people securing at least one job offer. Computer Science and IT are the two fields which have the best number of chances to catch hold of their dream company. There is 3 kind of offers categorized based on the company reputation and the compensation provided (Super Dream, Dream, and Mass). There is a good number of companies for other branches as well but the huge batch size leaves them with fewer options.

College Events

3.5

There are two major events namely Gravitas (Tech fest) and Riviera (Cultural fest). Gravitas was an event for people to show off their technical skills, teach new skills through workshops, fun games using technology which was all student driven. There were a number of visiting colleges participating as well. The Riviera held in the Winter semester as opposed to Gravitas was more of a fun event where all the famous artists like top comedians (for eg. Kenneth Sebastian and Vipul Goyal) of the country to performers and singers (Farhan Akhtar, Salim Suleman, Mohit Chauhan, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Nucleya) were invited to perform as well as colleges from across the country were called upon for inter-college sports events conducted by the college simultaneously. Even this event was student-driven which is surprising considering the scale of the event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The total cost across 4 years would be somewhere between 8-10 Lakhs (exclusive of personal costs and transportation etc). Given the amazing hostel and mess facilities with the lab infrastructure, I would say that the fee is more on the feasible side rather than expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't avail of any scholarship. We got it through an educational loan which was easily available considering the reputation of the college.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is incredibly beautiful with sufficient space for one to spend 4 years comfortably without feeling claustrophobic. However, more than half the campus (towards the boy's hostel side) was not accessible to girls which I felt was unfair. The gender ratio was pretty poor with approximately 1 girl against 20 boys. The campus In time and the hostel in time were killing at times. There were a lot of committees which run and were really successful. There were adequate sports facilities including for those sports which were less famous (like Squash). However, what was missing was the maintenance of the proper multipurpose field which could have been much better only if maintained and utilized properly.

Hostel Facilities

3

Yes. The rooms were well maintained and cleaned and regularly whitewashed. However, I always felt that there was always a person or two extra than ideal from what was being allowed eventually. (with regards to space)

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. I receive emails regarding alumni meet almost every 3 months and there is even a WhatsApp group for the same.

Admission

We need to apply for this college separately online by going to their admission website. There's a separate fee for this exam. The exam was held a month after the board exams get over and the process was quite smooth. It was a speed-based test with no negative marking. The final process needs to be completed at the respective college which is a little hectic and unpredictable if you have a rank in the mid ranges.

Faculty

2.5

Though there were some excellent faculties in our college, However, I would rate the overall experience with the faculties as Average. Then again most colleges have the same issue. The studies are mostly done on an independent basis where you have to minimalize the dependence on a faculty. However, they all were adequately experienced to give to the point material for studies, mostly managed by these faculties only which is pleasing.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
