Remarks

From my college experience, I think I gained many things. Obviously college is a time that students can truly become individuals.I got an opportunity to become more independent and to take on new responsibilities. I have always relied on my parents for support, but at college I learnt be on my own and to push myself harder. This helped me to become more mature and helped me grow in character. Right now I have a fairly accurate idea concerning what I want to do with my life. From my college I learnt the importance of team work and unity.

Entrance Preview

I took various exams like IIT JEE, AIEEE, COMEDK, I didn't score good in IIT. I had good score in COMED K. I scored 91 marks in that and secured 5447 rank. Then I did the counselling over there and chose The National Institute Of Engineering, Mysore. As it is a very old renowned college of Karnataka and I was getting this with my rank. In Comed K the couselling prrocess was offline so I had to go over there and do the counselling then after selection process went to the college and took admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose Information Science and Engineering as I was not getting the Computer Science.I am quite interested in programming and computer concepts so I chose this branch. The experience has been altogether very good. I got to learn a lot of new technologies and concepts how it work. I got to know I engineering is creativity.

Internships Opportunities

In my college various big companies come. Companies like CISCO systems, National Instruments, Walmart, HP, TESCO, HSBC, SAPLabs etc came to my college. I got placed in Accenture and intern in SAPLabs.I am offered a stipend of 25000 p/m

Placement Experience

4

In my college various big companies come. Companies like CISCO systems, National Instruments, Walmart, TESCO, HSBC, SAPLabs etc came to my college. CISCO systems offered 13.13lakhs pa, Walmart offered 13 lakhs pa, National Instruments offered 11lakhs pa, Applied Materials 9lakhs pa, HSBC 12lakh pa etc

College Events

4

Various techinal and cultural fests are celebrated in the college throughout the year. ACE technical fest for CSE and ISEAAKAR technical fest for CIVIL etcand 3 day state level cultural fest tech NIEks. All students actively participate in this fests. Many celebraties too visit college in time of these fests

Fee Structure And Facilities

My college is a government aided college. For Karantaka people the fees is very less and feasible but for out side karanataka the fee is very expensive. I came through comed K so I have to pay a fee of 143600 rupees every year excluding hostel and mess.which is quite expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is offered to the residents of Karantaka only by the college, that came through CET. The students who came through Comed k are not liable for any scholarships or loans by the college.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is pretty good. The life has been easy. In just a blink 3 years have passed. There are nearly equal number of girls and boys here. No such issues on race and religions faced in the college. There is lot of opportunities for an individual growth here.Various state level sports competitions happen such as Table Tennis, Weight Lifting,Cricket, Basketball etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

I am North Indian and here we are served south indian foods so this is a problem. I dont like that much.I would rate it 6 out of 10 in mess food and 8 out of 10 in hostel facilites. The rooms are sapcious and ambience around is good.

Alumni/Alumna

Seeing the alumni word I remember of Narayan Murthy, Infosys founder.and spinner HS Prasanna both have studied from our college. Seniors are very helpful and co operative here in every way either it may be in donating their books or teaching.

Exam Structure

Each semester there are three internals each of 25 marks for each subject.Out of this best 2 are taken. Then there is a semester final exam of 100 marks which is valued 50%. We need to secure passing marks in both to pass in any particular subject. During exams it gets very hectic

Faculty

4

The faculty's of my department are pretty good.My college is an autonomous college. All the teachers professor really helped in every possible way they could.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
