Acharya Narendra Dev College, B.Sc, Physical Sciences
Reviewed on Aug 5, 2020(Enrolled 2017)

Remarks

I chose Acharya Narendra Dev College over others because of the following reasons:- 1. Its First Cut-Off was satisfying my 12th percentage(of best 4 subjects], 2. It was not that far from my home[~7 KM, which was about 30-45 min through DTC Bus], 3. Being one of the best Science Colleges in South Campus, offering Physical Sciences course. Qualities of This College:- 1.Best known for its quality education and research in the field of Science, one of the best in south campus of Delhi University, 2.Although the Campus is not that large, but its faculty members are great. 3.Has many ECA societies like Dhwani(Drama Society), Dhun(Music Society), Maayra(Dance Society)& Sports activities. 4. NIRF(2020) Ranked -18 (among Colleges Category) 5. Situated near Govindpuri Metro Station, Kalkaji, New Delhi, making it easy for students to reach. Admission process: 1.Regn on DU Admission portal (Apr-May) 2.Went to college with docs reqd and got my docs verified(June-July). 3. Joined from mid-July. Site- du.ac.in

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course i.e. Physical Science with chemistry because:- 1. It teaches all main aspects of sciences with environmental as well as physical components, 2. Comprises of all main branches of science like Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Environmental sciences and Intellectual Property Rights as well, 3. Its syllabus is much easier than Honours courses and hence easy to attain good mark. Faculty:- 1. Enough faculty members to manage and take regular classes 2. Kind and helpful professors with highly experienced qualities 3. Covered syllabus on or before the datasheets of semester exams so as to facilitate students easy revision and doubt clearance 4. Professors had great knowledge and expertise in respective subjects with encouraging ways to teach students Exams(Semester mode);- 1. Usually conducted after 5-6 months of commencement of semester, according to Delhi University curriculum 2. Exams of Programme course, I would say, were quite less difficult than honours course's, hence easy.

Placement Experience

3

* Third-year students(i.e 5th and 6th semester) are selected by the placement companies through Exams and interviews. *Companies like Concentrix came to our College for selection of students *Many students from our college go for a master's degree through IIT JAM, Government jobs. My plans after degree: To Clear UPSC Civil Services examination.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure of Physical Science course(excluding examination fees which was~Rs.1000) was like:- 1. 1st year=~Rs 7760-Rs 7800 2. 2nd year= ~ Rs 7800 3.3rd year=~ Rs.8000-Rs. 8500 No sudden fee hike was observed. *Companies come to college for hiring last year students for jobs in private firms, based on exams and interviews. *Scholarships are provided to the brilliant students, who perform well in semester/year exams or who can't pay for their fees but are good scorers. *This college also has its entrepreneurship center called Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) by the Department of science and tech, Govt of India, to convert job seekers to job creators.

Campus Life

4

*This college is situated in the middle of the Govindpuri market area of South Delhi, but that doesn't affect its silence, calmness, and prestige. *The campus is inundated with greenery, has many small-small garden type lawns to hang out. *Very clean campus with proper ventilated structure. Annual Fest:- 1. Hosted every year in the main ground in the month of February. 2. Many big celebrities have performed in the "Celebrity night" part of a fest like B Praak, Fazilpuria, Guri. 3. Course Curriculum Overview:

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.

Students of 6th sem are eligible for the campus selection process. Our course also have placement programs. Some companies that visit here are TCS, Wipro and few more the no of offers made depend upon the performance of student in the placement cell. The highest package as per my knowledge is 13 lakhs and the average here is 6 lakhs. Sorry for the inconvenience but I don't have any knowledge regarding the job profile given. The placement percentage changes every year depending upon the respective batch. My planning after the course is either placement otherwise my prime goal CSE.
