Indian School of Hospitality Gurgaon, BA {Hons.}, Culinary Arts

Reviewed on May 27, 2020

Remarks

The college has a really good course structure for the course that I pursued, I.e BA Culinary Arts. The curriculum is based on practical and hands on knowledge which is very beneficial in this industry. The college campus is very beautiful and modern with all the facilities required for a hospitality school.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure is amazing because it not only equips you to become a great chef but also an entrepreneur. The internships throughout the course help us bring the buisness perspective to the table as well.

Placement Experience

The college has a really good placement cell which helps and aids students to not only be placed in the best hotels around india but also in international hotels around the world. Almost everyone gets placed directly after college because of the great course and knowledge that they provide us with.

College Events

The college organizes a lot of events and conferences for the students which equip us with better opportunities and knowledge for the future. The conferences that are organized are well connected to our course.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college is very expensive to say the least. For a 4 year long course the fee is Rs. 22,00,000. The fee for ever year remains the same. Even though the fees is not the most feasible, the college campus and the course offer justify it.

Campus Life

The College has an almost at par gender ratio. Even the staff and faculty doesn't seem dominated by a gender. The college looks after our entire development as an individual so healthy competitions are organized time and again. As this is a practical course, most of our time is spent actually working on our skills.

Hostel Facilities

The college provides with a non campus accommodation facility which is 3 kms away from the college in partnership with Coho. The accommodation is actually very nice and feels like a true home away from home.

Admission

The college admission criteria requires a student to have obtained more than 40% in class 12 Exams. You have to apply online through the website which is a very easy process. I chose this college over others because of their impeccable course structure.

Faculty

The faculty at the School is very dedicated towards teaching. From Experienced chef turned teachers to young mind like ours, we learn how to create new things as well as how good the age old recipes are. They are very detailed and observant in the classrooms and helps us become better chefs.

A Great option, if you can bear the rowdiness of Haryanvi culture.

Likes

Top of the line infrastructure and facilities in classrooms.
Very good choice and quality of food. Multiple cafeterias.
Robust and excellent student led initiatives including clubs and events.

Dislikes

Major issue is presence of disruptive, heavily misbehaving students, mostly from villages in Haryana
Very far from the city with connectivity going through village roads

Placement Experience:

Placements are offered at Final year of the degree. I am not opting for placements but University seems to be trying it's best to give all students the opportunity. Atleast 5 companies have offered us positions. Mostly in the education field. They are medium to large companies.

JGU: Best MPH College

Likes

As it is a non residential weekend program, i don't stay in campus hostels. But my other overall experience at JGU has been very good.

Placement Experience:

The Office of Career Services really is super helpful with getting across healthcare, NGOs, and policy setups. People from my senior batch have landed all kinds of roles, like analysts, epidemiologists, health educators, and many more.

A Successful Journey at PIET

Likes

Overall experience was great at PIET campus.

Placement Experience:

As i said earlier, i chose PIET for placements because my cousin is doing well and earns a good amount of money while sitting comfortably at home. He got his first job through on campus placements. The training provided by the Career Advancement Cell helps us a lot to perform well during interviews. Especially the mock interview sessions; they give us the real experience of what an interview session looks like so that we are ready when our turn comes for the interview.

My Positive Journey at JGU

Likes

My Overall Experience at JSLL has been very positive.

Placement Experience:

I get so annoyed when people assume my English degree means i am just going to end up teaching at a school. Our placements show we are taking on corporate roles in content strategy, UX writing, public policy, and even training AI models. I have seen people from my program getting hired by recruiters like Republic Media Network, ITC Hotels, Simplotel, Growth Jockey, and IOTA Informatics. Whether I want to go into publishing, consulting, or corporate communications, the doors are wide open for roles that actually matter right now.

A Balanced blend of Legal education And Student life at KRMU

Likes

Supportive and knowledgeable faculty members, also they encourage students to participate in academic and cultural events , competitions etc,
Provides regular workshops, seminars, guest lectures, competitions
Active legal aid and extracurricular activities for practical exposure

Dislikes

Administrative processes may sometimes take longer tha expected
Some events and activities occasionally overlap with academic schedules

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities are available for the students in the final year, and the university provides support through internships, training sessions, and placement drives. Various companies, law firms and corporate organisations visit the campus for recruitment. The average package is moderate depends on the student's skills, academic performance , and internship experience. My plan after completing the LL.B course is to pursue an LL.M. to specialise in my area of interest and further strengthen my legal knowledge and career prospects.

A Place That Nurtures Talent

Likes

My experience at JGU has been execellent. Faculty members are highly qualified, approachable, and always encourage students to think critically.

Placement Experience:

As the program has been approved by CoA and puts emphasis on modern software applications such as BIM, our portfolios look fabilous. Moreover, the career office keeps helping us to enhance our CVs and improve the quality of our work. When i graduate, i won't be limited to basic drafting jobs. Graduates move into cool fields like urban planning, green building copnsulting, or real estate mangament. Having all those options on the table makes life way less stressful.
