Entrance Preview

My stateboard physics, Chemistry and Maths marks combined with Tamilnadu Entrance exams held on 2000 were used in Single window counseling.

Course Curriculum Overview

First year we had general Engineering subjects. Second to Final year Computer science specific courses with Lab facility. We had a computer center called Octagan was a good facility.

Internships Opportunities

I attended unpaid internship with HCL chennai with the help of my college mate. We came to chennai and spent 20 days on internship. No Stipend was offered, but it was a good experience for the Placements

Placement Experience

Our Computer science department has a 100% placement. MNCs like Oracle, Verzon, CTS, TCS, Trilogy visited and most of the college mates got placed in the 3 months of the 7the semester.

College Events

We had a technical symposium for our CSC department. Festember was our inter college festival. We also had the RECFEST inter department cultural competition. I participated in the Tamil mandram events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My college tution fee was 5000 including the course books. My hostel fee was around 6500 food and hostel fee. It was not expensive. It was managle for me at that time.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since I was a First Graduate from my family. The state goverment offered my Scoloar ship for 8 thousand per year. It was very helpfull.

Campus Life

I enjoyed most of the moments in the college. Symposiums, inter dpeartment competitions were enjoyble. I actively particpated in the RECFEST. I payed cricket and games in octogan those are the memories I have now.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility was fine. First year mess food was not good. Remaining years it was better. Every hostel had some good sporting grounds, basket balls, Foot ball, Hockey are played.

External Expense: Rs. 4000 - Rs. 7000

Alumni/Alumna

I am not in touch with Alumini. Our deparment folks are in touch and get together frequently. No much contact with Senior students. But I see regular mails regarding Alumini meetings.

Exam Structure

It was the grading system. Every semester we have 3 cycle tests and one semesters. Cycle tests carry 15 marks. Best of 2 cycle test scores were taken into account. Semester score was 7015+15+70.

Though some of the Staff assistance and professors were not eligible facility,most of the faculty were educative. Selva Kumar, KV Vishwanayan Aiyar. N R Subramaiyam, Shyamala were good Faculties.

Here there is no gender separation like boys and girls should be seperate and stuff like that.
It is a autonomous college so courses are changing regularly with the shift in education
Here we have relative grading system therefore there is no ranking and easy to get good grades

Dislikes

We have to pay yearly fees not semester wise it difficult for low income earning families
Money is collected from students for all events happening in the college.
There is a rush for collection of fees at the start of each year and unpaid students might face absent issues

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are moderate but i don't know much about other courses but for civil engineering the average placed ctc is 3 lakh per annum one or two students got higer package but most of the students got lower package as a fresher.

For mba they take cat score only and I am not sure of cutoff but it might range between 75 to 80 for general 70 to 75 for ews and obc . NIT Trichy is the best choice

This college has a good Placements record. In 2020, NIRF ranking for the institution is 9. It has good faculty to student ratio and Research Facilities are also very good.
