Course Curriculum Overview

The degree requires five years of full time study (nine semesters). It includes course work in animal husbandry, para-clinical, applied veterinary science and animal husbandry economics and extension. In addition the students are exposed to field / laboratory work, small and large animal clinics besides an intensive internship programme for a period of six months

Placement Experience

4.5

Ours, being a medical course, the placements are 100%, but there are a variety of avenues. Few have joined government hospitals as doctors, few have set up their private clinics, and 5 guys have gone to the US for PhD. A few are in the poultry industry. The salary ranges around Rs. 50,000-1 LPM. Few NGOs interviewed for placements and recruited them as veterinarians in their clinics.

College Events

5

I will just list out the events conducted in the college. Fresher?s day is love, and graduation day is painful. All national festivals are celebrated with dignity. Dog shows are conducted. Vet fest, Kannada month fest, ethnic day, sports meet, inter-college sports, national level youth festival, etc. are also conducted, and it?s really fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is quite moderate as this a government college. There are also scholarships available for the needy. I was glad to get an scholarships on basis of my scores. The hostel as well as mess charges are different.

Campus Life

Cassrooms are good and all the classrooms are having a projector. Wi-Fi is available in the hostel. Separate well-equipped labs are there for every department. There is a dispensary also present. Sports and games facilities are also good. We are having access to indoor games also.

Admission

I loved animals ever since I had my first dog. Since then wanted to do something to help them. Students pursuing Higher Secondary Course (10+2) with Biology or Botany and Zoology, Physics and Chemistry in academic stream (or) Agricultural Practices / Dairy / Poultry in vocational stream.

Faculty

4

The teachers are extremely helpful, they teach us in depth and even clarify our doubts. The teachers are very much accessible for the students. The teaching quality is 4.5 out of 5, and there is every scope to get better. The teaching methods involve blackboard teaching, e- classroom teaching, presentations, demonstrations, giving assignments, proper conduct of exams regularly, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was very passionate about entering the medical field quite early in my life, so I knew what I had to do when I was in school. Medical field is a very challenging area to choose and the work life balance is not as good as other professions. However, it is very engaging and interesting for people who are actually interested in the subject. However, one cannot practice medicine after finishing MBBS because of the increasing competition, so he has to do PG course in order to be more approachable for the patients as well as to serve better in the specific field. The course curriculum is start in a well planned manner and the portions are completed ahead of time so that students have around 1 to 1.5 months of study break before the university exams every year. So, along with the exams that take place throughout the year, students will also have ample time to prepare for their exams in their own way preferred.
