A glance about VIT university

I have got good reviews from my friend who was already in this college. It has a balanced curriculum, you have to equally manage both academics and extracurricular to develop yourself. There are approximately 20 hostels and 10 academic buildings of different schools. They generally take VIT entrance exam in month of may and result is announced in june montand by mid june you are called to vit centres for admission process. If you have not done well in mains and advance exam and is seeking for college with brighter future than VIT is one after BITS. You can read plenty of reviews on quora to get an insight about the college. Academic building are equipped with necessary requirements and laboratory have all required machinery to practically analyse the subject. Hostels mostly are well furnished , but you need to choose your mess wisely to survive. Most important role is of your branch rank to let you decide which room or which hostel or which mess to choose. Overall it is fun here

I have interest in this branch, so I took it. It is something which can be practically analysed and that is the point I was attracted to civil branch. Branch strength is about 300 and faculty is nearly 30 which means 1:10 ratio and it has subdivision in branch faculty wise like some faculty comes under water resource engineering. Most of the faculty are highly knowledgeable in their subject. Teaching methodology is through slide presentation. For numericals they will solve it on board. Every month you either have internal exam or term end exam , and each day you need to submit digital assignment of any of the subject, so it is a bit heavy. For passing the semester you need to be just attentive during class and submit assignment on time

Placement is good if you are in cs,it ,ece or in short circuit; branches. Placements starts in month of july and will continue till next year april.Almost everyone get placed in a company, but it is upon your performance ,the ctc you are offered. they have categorised below 4 s regular, between 4 to 10 lpa as dream offer, and above 10 as super dream. you can avail a maximum of one offer per category and average placement is about 6 lpa. My plan is to do mba after engineering and have job in managerial role

Fees is approximately 180000 for tuition and for hostel it is ranging from 1 lakh to 2 lakh depending upon your choice of room and mess. They generally don't increase fees a lot ,although 5000 hike per year can be witnessed. Scholarship is provided to city topper form tamil nadu board or if you are financial week they have some concession.

There are two fest namely gravitas and riviera. graviatas is technical fest held in month of October and have thousands of external participant. Periyar library is one of the biggest in asia and approximately 2 lakh books are available. All classroom you will have benches and projector , some are smart class room like in every floor one or two. there is a department of physical education for sports, you have big play ground for cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis,lawn tennis etc. there are 110+n clubs in college with 13 of them ngo. So you have great opportunity to join club of your interest

There are different type of rooms from single bedded to six bedded and even dorms. And in choice of ac and non ac and according to your budget you can choose your room, given that your rank in academics is good because according to that you will be given preference to choose room. Mess is not so good, but some caterers like darling is preferred and it has tasty food. You have veg ,non veg and special mess. So if your rank is good you can choose room of your choice and also take your friends in it. Mess is first come first book basis.
