Don Bosco Institute of Technology Mumbai, BE, Mechanical Engineering

Reviewed on Sep 10, 2020

Remarks

I wanted to pursue mechanical engineering and only a few good colleges in Mumbai provide that.Ratings of college were positive. The course fee was feasible for me and my family. The proximity of the college was good for me.

Course Curriculum Overview

Few faculty member are very supportive and helpful. They have good experience and have PhD.Rest are just average who don't know how to treat students and alway couse trouble for students. The curriculum is updated and goes hand in hand with Mumbai University

Class Size: 65Course Fees: INR 500000 per year

Placement Experience

3.5

College recently recieved NAAC accreditation of B+, so this year more companies are expected. Placements are just fine for Comps and IT and average for mechanical engineering

College Events

3.5

Extracurricular activities and fests bring life in this college. We have Closseum- annual technical fest and Hysteria- Annual cultural fest. All kind of events are there in these fests including sports

Campus Life

The campus is equipped with almost everything students need except a gymnasium.College has a football ground, basketball court, top court for everything else.College has labs for every practicals and they are fine.

As we are in the 1st year of our college, I won't be able to answer this accurately. But, as far as what I've heard from the alumni and seniors, the average placement stats of this college is around 15LPA. The highest package may scale up to 30LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Literature gave me insights to the history and a different pov on the situations happened Literature sharpens the thought process we can have in real world scenarios which are quite unique tbh. Its just too much of theory, if could update it and make it somehow relavent to today situation, it would be fun learning it

COLLEGE REVIEW OF IBSAR BELAPUR

Likes

The good thing about this college is affordability and how quick the admission process is.
Teachers are friendly too, there is no mandatory attendance rule and the lecs are conducted three days a week for mca students which gives them the freedom to work or switch between lecs and personal things
The feedbacks of students are taken seriously and the staff is changed accordingly. Students can freely talk to faculty about the performance of teachers and quality of education.

Dislikes

There is no campus in this college which limits student activities for events or other things.since the lecs are not conducted daily or as like other colleges , very less class count is there which affects the interactivity as well.
The quality of infrastructure is not quite good as the college is there in two floors of the building only. Campus amenities are average as well. There aren't much opportunities as such in this college like industrial level or any.
If anyone wants to experience and actually college life with the whole campus experience, events , activities or other things ,this college isn't a good fit

Placement Experience:

During the admission the students are told that in semester four , just students are eligible for campus placements and some of the companies come for a placements and even the undergraduate students are placed . The name of the companies that come for the placement include Vector ,HDFC Bank etc but in admission pamplets huge company names are provided like infosys, wipro, etc. the average packages are 300000 -500000 per year. The cgpa of students should be higher than 7. I am planning for an on campus as well as off campus placements.

I got into DBIT post completion of my diploma so it was a DSE or Direct second year engineering entry students , I got EXTC engineering in the second CAP round . The college offers Engineering in 4 Branches namely Computer Engineering , IT , EXTC, and Mechanical and students can get admission through either by doing 12th or after diploma . For students who have did 12th the college accepts admission through MHTCET and JEE the cutoff are usually high above 90+ percentile for Computer and IT branch while slightly low 80%+ for EXTC and Mechanical branch. The college has a overall seats of 120 seats in computer engineering Dept 60 of which are reserved for Christian Students. While the other dept have 60 seats per dept and 10% seats are reserved for DSE students...Read More

MH-Cet percentile of 97 is required as even though it was lockdown when i took admission the cut-off was still that. Yes, in that cut-off, getting admission is tough but cometh the hour, cometh the man is what DBIT believe in. Just 20% seats for minorities and thats a good thing as one gets fair chance for admission here....Read More
