Been decades since I graduated but infra and admin can tremendously improve
Like I said, its been two decades that I graduated but in our times too it was relevant course curriculum and post our grad I believe it was all transformed. Ours was Shakespeare literature and classic 19th-19th century like Charles Dickens and Emily Bronte - Wuthering Heights etc.
NONE during 2000 year but some procured internships with their independent contacts and now with time it may have evolved.
Yearly festival, Music concerts - Parikrama was our rock band and which was so good and they are still so popular. We never had online or social media platforms so we have thoroughly enjoyed college life without posting anything online. Memories are so fond and imprinted on my heart.
Not expensive at all as was comparable to the university degrees. NOT anything more than course fees. Since it is been two decades but I am sure it may have changed in past few years as I hear from my juniors. But during our time too other colleges had similar fee structure.
No I was taken in on merit - on my scores in 10+2, so no loan nor scholarship as it was a college under grad degree.
Gender diversity in my course was skewed more on females with only 4 males but overall college it was more skewed on males. ECA were great with music society called "musoc" and dramatics called "players". Both are so well regarded and Naseeruddin Shah, Shakti Kapoor and even Amitabh Bachan are alums of my college and that society.
Did not avail as I was a day scholar being from Delhi but have attended many concerts along with fellow hostler friends who lived and availed given they were outstation candidates. It was very basic though in our times and must have improved over time.
Yes. though none college led but a great KMC community exists and we are in touch though never really attended an event.
I always wanted to take up english hons because I had command over language and wished to be a journalist so was very clear about the course and which colleges had best faculty for english so while securing admission in two other leading colleges as named below, i decided to still go for Eng H at Kirori mal college and I am glad I did that.
I had secured admission in Hansraj and Daulat Ram colleges but wanted to always switch to KMC because of superb faculty of english like Badri Raina, Kewal Arora to name the senior professors. So proud to be associated to them till this day. HOD for english at hansraj college was himself so convinced that I should join KM for the course and I did.
The placement cell of the college is quite active and growing day by day. It provides internship opportunities for all students both paid and non-paid with 120+ companies. Final year students get opportunities to work with really good companies and MNCs like Wipro, Byjus, Vedantu, USI, etc. There are a total of 85+ recruitment companies they are working with. There are internship drives and alumini opportunities also. It organizes workshops and webinars from time to time. They also organize collaboration and events and workshops on cv building. In 2020-21, 70+ students got offer letters from big companies, and there 100% increase in offer letters. The highest package is upto 9 lakhs per annum and a gross package of 4 cr. I'm still thinking about my plans but I'm also thinking of applying for UPSC and civil services.
The students of the final year are eligible for campus placements. There are a no. of companies that visited our college like Oracle, ICICI Bank, IDFC Bank, HDFC Bank, and many other companies. The highest package they offer is Rs.5 Lakhs. 95% of the students get placed under the campus placement. I am planning to complete my masters after my graduation.
The campus has a placement cell that is active the whole year, the students can have work experience from their first semester itself depending on their interest. The cell bonds with many companies with 1 lakh per annum. I will be going for public policy after graduation from the field of political science.
After 5th-semester students are eligible for campus placements. I don't have any idea about the company .but they visit every time and provide a good package to the students. The selection is the basis of there talent not by %
I am yet to sit for placements but I have completed one internship through college. It was with a well known Fashion Designer and I am so happy because I got to learn so much about how the real world of design works. Especially happy because I got this opportunity in my first year itself.
The faculty are not just teachers - they are my mentors. Very well qualified - all of them have been giving their 100% to make sure we excel in our respective fields.
The Tuition Fees Is Very Cheap As Compared To Other University's. I Dont Have To Attend The College Everyday. I Can Work And Study At The Same Time As The Exams Only Happens Once A Year. I Opted This Course As Its Suitable For My Career.
The admission to the college is based on the marks secured by the qualifying examinations. The ones who are selected will also have a round of personal interviews and then the final list of students seeking admssion comes.
The placement and internship opportunities are quite limited as it's a central government college. There are still opportunities for students opting masters but not much options are available for bachelors degree.
The aspirants are required to fill up a common registration form for Delhi University Colleges. One can select as many course as they wish to. The registration fee varies for students from different categories. Once the board results are out, the university releases a common cut off list for different colleges, for different courses. The students have to then go to the college with which their cut off matches with all the required documents to secure their admission. Apart from merit based admissions, DU has a provision for students to apply via ECA (Extra Curriculum Activities). The process for the same is explained in detail on the official site.
We have an active placement cell in college, but I did not sit for placements so there isn’t much I can tell. There are placements and job opportunities but they are limited.
