Remarks

Very good environment. Climate is awesome too. Teachers are very helpful.Helped with my preparation for GATE and CSIR.. You can concentrate in study at NIT HAMIRPUR. The best environment you will get. Labs are mediocre though. People are good. Ofcourse its Himachal

Course Curriculum Overview

More focused on Nuclear and Particle Physics with Theoretical Physic. Around 6 teachers per 20 students. You will get help from Ph.D. scholars too. All teachers are Associate with a great approach towards Material Science. Exams were easy and you can easily get around 9 CGPA. Time schedule of exams are strictly on time.

Internships Opportunities

can't say much but you have to fill it up for different institutes by yourself. I am in Masters so we didn't get such opportunity but b.tech. guys they are offered.

Placement Experience

Average placement. Some got as good as 36 lpa . But most of them are in around 4 to 10 lpa. Recruitment cell is active. They are sensitive too. Coaching institutions , adobe, isro and several it companies like cognizant etc. are good visitors. No idea about percentage of students placed. I have been enrolled in PHD at iit ism dhanbad.

Fees and Financial Aid

No fees hike.. Masters course generally costs around 1 Lakh of course you will need to pay for mess extra. Mess is fine also . As far as i know, no scholarships are available.

Campus Life

life in campus is blast. Beautiful gardens and hilly areas. Tourist places are nearby. Fest is fine. More than three times a year. Books are available in plenty. Journals i don't have much idea. Classrooms are fine.sports is encouraged in there. Big field with different courts for different games are available. Lots of club are available, like, dance, drama, singing etc.

Hostel Facilities

fine hostel. New hostels are really like hotels. MEAL quality is good. Availability of hostel is okay. You will get singlet too if you are in masters and above. Locality you will get decent rooms upto 6000 p.m.

Interview Experience

You must have 60% or 6 CGPA.. to get admission. No other interview or group discussion required. Based on JAM rank upto 1200, you will get admission.

The university is clean and surrounded by lush greens. Security personnel are deployed throughout the campus and CCTVs are installed in almost every corner.
Research opportunities, great exposure is provided. Hands-on training experience on instruments, conferences, synthesis of materials, workshops are highly encouraged.,

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant to build textual knowledge and practical skills. Research is a major part of the cirriculum. Hands-on traning on instruments, research/review paper writing, synthesis of relavant materials to you domain, conferences, workshops are highly encouraged and provided.

Likes

College have good faculty member with good education qualification.
College have good lab and practical knowledge is excellent.
Non teaching staff is also very helpful and all the academic work easily done in campus.

Dislikes

Location of the university is noot good.
University lack food canteen and place for sitting like garden.
Their is no placement in himachal pradesh university

Remarks:

Teachers are good but the infrastructure needs improvement

It's totally the best 2 years of my college life

Admission:

I did my bachelor's from shoolini institute, solan which is also a part of this university. So I always wanted to do my masters from shooliniUniversity so this took me here. So I opted for this course because after completing 12th I don't know what to do further so my biology teacher told me to opt this. That's why I opted for and completed my studies in this course.

Remarks:

Many things are in university supportive.j just like pleasant environment and situated at national highway. Staff is also good. But no big playground.labs with less equipment are also weakness of university.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment. I applied just in government degree college , kullu where I opted bsc but this college is far better than Kullu College in terms of facilities to faculty, as well as ranking , reputation.
