Remarks

The scholarship criteria of this college is excellent. Based on the marks of LPUNEST or marks in intermediate they offer a maximum scholarship of 50% on tuition fees. I had been availed with the scholarship of 40%, that means I pay 54000 per semester inspite of 90000. Infrastructure of this college is amazing and whole campus is in 700 acres. Placements offer here are far better than other private colleges in India. Companies like Microsoft and Amazon hire students from LPU. If someone wants to go ahead in sports, LPU offers great assistance.

Course Curriculum Overview

LPU offers a wide range of courses like B.Tech, B.Sc in agriculture, BBA, BCA MBA, Phd courses and many more. The courses are very well planned. Classes are orgainised between monday and friday of the week. Communication skills can be widely improved to prepare everyone for placements in LPU. Seminars and different courses are regularly taken to keep everyone updated with the industry requirements. Interview sessions are taken regularly. Mac labs are available to keep students updated with different technology. Most of the faculties I have come through till now were holding Phd. Degree. They are highly skilled and help you in every aspects. You are also provided with personal mentor to guide you through the program.

Placement Experience

Companies like Amazon and Microsoft has visited this year for the placement. Hishest salary was offered by Microsoft of 42LPA. Amazon hired 12 students at 28LPA, OPTMYZER hired 4 students at 19LPA and many more. Yes opportunities in LPU is rising year by year and the placement department are really working well on it.

College Events

Campus life is very amazing. Last year event included like musical band with coke studio, different DJ nights, celebrities like Guru Randhawa, Ankit Tiwari performed in college. Many punjabi actors came for promotions. LPU major event includes ONE WORLD, in which every branch in the college have to choose one country and they had to represent it with their cultures, places, etc. Winners are awarded with great prizes. And second event is ONE INDIA, it is same as ONE WORLD, just each branch has to represent states in India.

Campus Life

Campus size of LPU is almost 700 acres. It includes 2 football, 1 cricket, 4 volleyballball, 2 basketball, 1 archery grounds. There is a sports club for indoor games, it includes gym, olympic size swimming pool, 4 badminton courts, etc. The campus has one mall, many food courts, 8 diffferent boys hostel with availability of unlimited wifi for 24 hours. The library is six storeyed building with availability of every course books, literatures, etc.Labs includes all the equipments that are included in the course and everything is studied in detail.

Hostel Facilities

There are different types of hostels which include AC rooms with 1,2,3,4,5 persons, Non AC rooms with cooler with 1,2,3,4,5 persons, dormitories with 6,7,8,9,10,11,12 Persons. Rooms are extra-ordinary compared to other colleges. Students can avail mess facility in their hostels if they need. Hostel rooms gets easily filled and its harder to get if we delay in taking admission. But dormitories are always available.

A perfect college to take admission for a good future

Likes

Interactions with lecturers from internation universities like- harvard and university of scotland
The mentors and faculties were supportive
They used to conduct placement assistance aswell.

Placement Experience:

We were offered placement assistance as it was an online program and i really think it is a good initiative because college are least bothered for placements for their online programs. As i had to pursue a career in marketing i started doing projects and internships in marketing and sales domain.

Attendence i perdonally didn't like, but it is mandatory
little bit parking issue inside the campus
overall college is good, you can go for it but not for placements

Placement Experience:

Rest everything is good with college, only i have issue with placement, since there are very poor or only core sales job in punjab, college is able to provide that only. You have to work your ass off if you want to get good placement, provided their education quality is good

75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Teachers have a lot of knowledge and are very supportive.
Busy opd , hence enough number of patients for practical studies.
Reaserch is very much promoted and supported.

Dislikes

There is no proper sports complex yet .
There is no gym in campus , for gym we have to go out of the campus.
There is no college fest of our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since we all know MBBS is course for being a doctor . As being doctor was a dream of mine i chosed this course.MBBS course is quite hectic but this is required since after completion of course we will become doctors and patients like will be in our hands. Frequency and timing of exams is already discussed in previous question.

The best thing is that it is very affordable and enhance your knowledge at various aspects.
The second thing is there are extra hostel charges.
And conducts various conferences and workshops for enhancing students knowledge

The location of the college is not that much good.
You have to travel half an hour to reach market.
The hostel rules disallow you for high voltage electricals

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

I think, the campus is being liked by everyone whether its staff member or a student, because the university consists of many blocks or departments and that too are named as A1, A2, A3, A4 & B1, B2, B3, B4, B5 & C1, C2, C3 & D1,D2,D3,D4,D5,D6,D7,D8
Parks and all are made for the relaxation purpose of the student
Car Parkings are available separately for the students and staff and that also inside the campus which is ambitious.

Dislikes

The semester fees and other expenses is relatively higher as compared to other institutions
Some students find the university’s rule such as strict attendance policies and accurate timings for the classes, quite stringent
Mostly 2 common times, one is in morning nearby 8.50 AM to 9.50 AM and in evening nearby 3.50 PM to 5.00 PM, the rush is like horses and buffaloes! There is so much over crowded & most of the crowd occurs by the Autos, but no one do anything for that

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i have opted the course B.Pharmacy! I rate the course as optimal, neither too bad nor too good, its medium! Now comes on teaching method, some teachers are really well and good and few are those who does not teaches but only writing writing, thats it, they will not explain at all! And one thing they should change is that All Courses except B.Pharmacy in Chandigarh University have the criteria to pass the student even below the 40% only or the half of the highest number scored by the topper in the class, and for Bpharmacy its minimum requirement to pass the exam is 50%, Oh My God! This needs to be changed, Now every year, in Bpharmacy, the overall 80% students are getting Compartments (Back/Fail) in the subjects, but the University is not understanding it all. So this should be changed as earlier!

Faculty : The faculty of Gian sagar as per experienced in 1st year of Mbbs is very caring and very talented. They take as many tests they can and make the student learn.
Learning facility : The teachers make digital slides.
Personal skill development : Every student is personally approached.

Too much syllabus : The mbbs course has a lot of syllabus to cover

The MBBS course is a very vast course . Syllabus is too much to handle . The curriculum prepares us for the practical approach like Anatomy , we have Dhall for cadaver dissection and osteology . We can see real life radiography.
