When I was in class 11 I want to become an engineer, which was my dream, my elder brother is an engineer ( recently working in TCS) he told me to prepare for Webjee and said that jadavpue university is one of the best college for engineering all over india, maximum student get placed and the salary package is also good. Except these JU provides a great quality teaching, the campus infrastructure and lab are very good. And the annual fees are just 10000 in 4 years, so it's a great opportunity for me cause my famit can't afford the huge amount for my study, for all the mentioned reason I joined in Jadavpur university.
Placement is a relative thing which depends on the market, so it varies from year to year. Not as great as IIT but hey, you pay 10,000/4 years considering that, the infrastructure and faculties that we get access to is pretty great. Others faculties are also good as my department like electrical, production, chemical etc. The placement scenario is quite good, both in software and core companies of respect it department, an immerse scope of research and at the same time all round development. The infrastructure of study and syllabus are also updated, being a part from Ju I can personally assume that it is one of the elite most Institute of the country and has been proved so in NAAC ranking as well.
JUME is one of the few colleges in India where after studying core mechanical engineering you can hope to get placed in a core mechanical engineering company, the profiles that the company offers although are mostly related to manufacturing services or states, The automobile companies mostly come with a sales services, production engineering related profile. Maruti Suzuki, Hero Motors, Bajaj, HPCP, vedanta, Reliance, Cummins, PWC, Musigma, capgemini etc, not all companies visit every year but most of them do. Almost 80 people from the department get placed.
In short Awesome, an urban university campus housing multiple facilities under the same roof very easily in India. A homely atmosphere here and here is lots of freedom. The best thing in the campus is the seniors and our batchmaets, they always provide a warm welcoming nature. The university provides each undergraduate with enough liabilities to cover it's course structure in a technical way. Ajantrik is an event organised by student of 2nd years of JUME for the 1st year of JUME ( freshers program) and enjoyed by the 1st, 3rd, and 4th years of JUME. It is not mandatory for every student to attend this but being a part of JUME I will give u suggestions to attend this.
1. Students are eligible from the 3rd year 6th semester to give placements. 2. Placement cell is very helpful will assist you in every step. 3. More than 60 companies came. 4. Placement is moderate. Reputed company visits our campus. The brand valued company such as Infosys, TechMahindra, First American corporation, Exceldynamics, Purnam info vision, Broadsoft, Vikram Solar, Micromax, Third eye technology, Sonodyne, etc. apart from that huge number of off-campus drives are arranged such that maximum students can get placed. almost 70-80% on an average placement is provided. It is also found that teachers keep track of an unplaced student for one year.
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for the campus placement. A company like TCS, CTS, Robart bosch, etc etc. The highest package is approximately 23 LPA and the average package is 4 LPA. 75-80%student getting placement through campus placement. I plan to get a job in campus placement.
As per my knowledge, the placement eligibility starts from the end of the 3rd semester. Many companies come to visit here like TCS, BYJU's, etc. The placement record is also good, you can find it in detail on the official website of Netaji Subhash Engineering College.
Students become eligible for placements in the fourth year i.e from the seventh semester. Various companies visit such as Infosys, which has a special collab with this college, TCS, HCL, etc. And offers made 18/19. The highest package is 12 lacs from Jaro. 75% of students were placed. After getting a degree I will opt for placements in good companies such as Amazon, Goldman Sachs, etc. or I will also give the GATE exam if selected I will do M. Tech.
Before the placement statistics you have to Know one thing that is Calcutta University has started 4 year's BTech in 2015, before it, the University used to provide a Bsc BTech program for 80 years (approx). So, now you can imagine the alumni network and the reputation of this Institution in the corporate field. The average package is all around 5-6 LPA. I am giving you the placement statistics of my department that is Chemical Engineering. Among all Department in CU, Chemical Engineering Department has the highest placement statistics. About 90% of the batch is placed every year. Companies like Haldia petrochemical, Technip, Linde, Hindustan Unilever, Excide Battery, Balmaer Lawrie, Asian paint, Berger, Appolo tire, BARC, IOCL, ONGC, Diamond Beverage, Sun pharma, Pfizer etc, provide Placement and internship opportunities. The average package of Chemical Engineering is 5.5-6 LPA. And the other departments has also a good placement record
As it is a new college, the on-campus placement facility is not so good. The other reason for this is the college is far away from metropolitan city Kolkata. But you will find a lot of off-campus placement opportunities there, you can also go for higher education after finishing your B.Tech from this College.
