The college is cosmopolitan which is quite amazing based on the fact that we can interact with people with many cultural background and learn alot. 100% job during campus Interviews in good companies.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course we follow is pretty similar to other universities' courses. We have good labs but industrial exposure is not enough. Industrial Visits are based on the course, also on the teachers who are willing to take the students also on the semester which take. I've been taken to IV only once in all 3 years of college experience even when the opportunities are high to be taken
Placement Experience
Placements are 100%, Companies like TCS and many IT companies usually recruit students here. VIT gives preference to IT companies. Core departments like mechanical, civil also get into IT because getting into those companies is difficult because number of such companies comes to college seldom
College Events
One can enjoy VIT's campus life to the fullest only when they join hostel. Be it technical events, Gravitas and Riveras which are annual technical and cultural fests respectively can be enjoyed only when you're in hostel. To get position in boards of clubs, one has to work which usually happens in Saturdays and Sundays and at night, a dayscholar can't stay in reality. Practically not a affordable tasks given one has to travel. Our college has "Flexi timing" which makes us stay in college upto 6pm. If a person has to travel 1 to 1.5 hours, they may reach home by 7- 7:30 approx without considering traffic. This is the big disadvantage for a student studying in VIT unlike other engineering colleges.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is really good, we got one big library with 3 floors filled with books covered every section be it UPSC books, GATE, courses related, novels. The WiFi facility is available but has signal problems as usual. We got a big ground inside men's hostel where women and dayscholars are not allowed. We although have basketball courts, tennis courts in college campus itself which can be used by everyone.
