Remarks

I chose this college over others because I was fascinated by its campus as well as by the academics curriculum it provides. I took admission in 'B. tech CSE with specialization in Bioinformatics' and I guess it's only VIT which provides such course and many others such courses that are unique and are offered by only VIT. The selection process for VIT is through their own entrance exam "VITEEE", they usually ask direct questions from NCERT and If you have been through NCERT then clearing VITEEE is a piece of cake. Securing 7000 ranks in VITEEE I was allotted Bioinformatics in the 1ST category itself. Now VIT has a category system in which as your rank goes on increasing your category will also increase so does your tuition fees. VIT offers admission till 5th category and it doesn't allow admission through the management quota.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

To be honest the courses which are offered here are super easy and descriptive. VIT believes in practical learning so any courses they offer will have an embedded lab for students to get exposure to the course that what it really does. Now coming to faculties, The faculties here are super friendly here though sometimes you might come across some faculties which kind of does partiality between North and south Indian students. VIT only provides qualified faculties, most of them holds PhD and many of them are IIT graduate as well. Thanks to their practical way of teaching and qualified yet friendly faculties, passing term exams weren't that hard provided you were actually paying attention during lectures.

Internships Opportunities

4

lots of companies and even giant companies like 'Microsoft' visit the VIT campus to provide Internship opportunities to both 3rd and 4th-year Students. So If you have relevant skills and some projects in your hand then you might have an opportunity to intern with your dream company.

Placement Experience

4.5

If you are in VIT then rest assured you will be placed provided you do not have any backlogs! Giant companies like De shaw and even Microsoft visits our campus! VIT holds the limra book of records for the highest placement in a day. The placement ratio is so perfect here, usually, all the students get placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

As mentioned earlier, VIT has a category system. Now your academics fees depend upon your rank and the branch you choose. While counseling VIT provides 5 categories for students and as the category increases fees as well as increases. Usually, it's the CS branch that fills up fast so even if you get a rank under 10k there is a possibility you will have to take admission either in the 2nd or 3rd category. VIT gives full scholarships to those students who are state toppers in board exams and it also provides scholarships to those students who are below the poverty line.

Campus Life

5

To be honest life at the campus is so good and chill. You will be surrounded by people from all over India. You will get exposure to all sorts of cultures from all over India. We have two fests in the whole year the first one being a technical event called 'Gravitas' which organised usually in the month of September followed by a cultural fest called 'Rivera' which is held in August. The students from all over India participate in both fests.VIT during fests are unbelievable, you will be fascinated by the beauty of the campus. VIT has lots of clubs and chapters, students according to their choice can take part in any of the club or chapters or both and later on the members from that club becomes his/her family.

Hostel Facilities

5

I got to say facilities provided in the hostel are way better than the facilities you come across in OYO's and mess food are way clean and delicious than most of the colleges in India. We have different types of menu every week so you won't be getting bored eating the same food again and again!

Interview Experience

4

VIT takes its own entrance exam 'VITEEE' and if the students know NCERT then they will be able to secure a good rank. VIT asks questions from 'Physics', 'Chemistry', 'Maths/Biology', and English. There will be few questions from aptitude as welll.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
