Remarks

One of the best institutes in India. Multiple opportunities for fields to choose from. Choices of electives from all the branches including humanities, biology, and economics.Single occupancy hostels with a decent mess. Goa itself is amazing. All sports facilities are there and the greenery of the goa is a plus.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this field as the field is linked with electrical, electronic communication, and computer science. The faculties are pretty knowledgeable and helpful. Professors do give a hard time while evaluating and don't award grades easily. The boy to girl ratio here is about 10:1.

Internships Opportunities

The college has a practice school station system which is ps 1 which happens at the end of the second year and ps 2 which happens in a semester of the fourth year in which the students have the choice to choose the semester of ps. All the students participate in ps and stations are alloted based on their cgs.

Placement Experience

Placements are decent and the placement unit is quite hard work. Almost all the students end up with opportunities one or the other. The stats of the placements are not publically available but nonetheless, they are decent.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is quite high and pretty much unaffordable to many people but there are some scholarships awarded on the merit and merit cum need basis which reduces the tution fees by a good margin. The fee hike is about 8-9% a year which adds up to quite much

Campus Life

Campus Life is quite awesome as the college is situated in Goa which is a party hub of India. The campus is very beautiful with greenery all over. We have a fully equipped sport and activities center with a fully equipped gymnasium, badminton court, squash court and pretty much every sport one wants to continue or start.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are quite lovely although there is no air-conditioning but the weather in Goa pretty much covers it. There is single occupancy for each student except the first years who stay in newly built double occupancy hostels. Mess food is decent and other food options are also available.

Reasons to not Join this College: By a ex-student

Likes

The surroundings is quite mesmerizing...

Dislikes

The faculties are rude and extremely toxic.
The faculties don't have clear understandings of the syllabus.. the lack of alignment with prescribed syllabus leads to high failure rate with nearly 60% of students failing in each semester
Quite often the semester examination papers include topics that were not covered by the teachers in class. in My class 23/75 students got block(year back). Which must be highest rate of failures across entire India

The curriculum is the same across all the 5 colleges It's too outdated to be studied Not relevant for modern-day job markets Students often have to study different materials to crack a job. Youtibe is best solution to clear the concepts

Likes

zero % attendance policy and freindly seniors and no ragging and vibrant culture

Dislikes

less campus area and sports timings are limited

Placement Experience:

Placements are good like averages of chemical is 12 lpa and there is good placement percentage ratio like 75 percent and if in case of no placements further study is possible option as bits have connection to many best institues in the world.

The only thing that I like about the college is the environment the college is built in nothing else

Dislikes

Everything from the infrastructure to the campus to the faculty to basic facilities everything

The course same to be around 50 years old and which is not updated we as students studying bachelors in engineering need new updates in our courses every year so that we know what is new in the market

Likes

First of all it was government college..
The college has a huge campus and a good infrastructure
College background is also good enoughh.

Dislikes

Surroundings area is not clean enough and not maintained
It is a long distance to cover everyday.
Don't have a proper ground to play around

I myself wanted to bebin this course as it has bright scope. It is very attractive in real world. the area needed to be cleaned and well maintained and hygiened as well. And the class timing are not good enough . They keep classes as they want.

Likes

The campus is good, lots of air and good weather. Good facilities, decent food spots around and faculties are also good mostly. Masters courses are available in some departments.

Dislikes

There are cows roaming around as well as dogs so there is a lot of rubbish on the roads. The college is situated on a hill so getting there is a challenge for bus travellers, Canteen is horrible, so is the workshop. Security is non existent.
Anyone can come during college hours and even kill you and nobody will do anything.

Placement Experience:

I have no clue but the highest placements are in Computer and IT branches. Civil has probably the least placement. The quality is good thanks to IIT and NIT being in the same campus thus the big companies that come to those colleges also come to our colleges but they prefer those students more because NIT and IIT are more prestigious colleges.

The campus is new and in hostel one room for one person and the room is really good , we have everything which you need in a room enough lights fan a good cupboard
70 percent of the campus (other than boys hostel) looks nice ..they have greenery , a smol park like area in front of girls hostel and and good classrooms , professors are okaish

Dislikes

Many times hostel water tank gets empty ..so no water not even for drinking for hours and electricity went sometimes not much and one big problem is the internet inside the hostel , outside our hostel network comes but inside no signal
They have a wifi which don't work well and not much range of it ,it's a big problem we face everyday . The food is not good , below then avarage it got degraded since we came to new campus . It's been a year in this new campus
Only one basket ball and vollyball court for sports , no ground ,nothing . There is one ground in front of boys hostel where no grass only needle like rocks if you fall your bone will be cracked and , recently they started to let sevagewater out init

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is okay okay but not that great . Mech and civil don't have that much package avg of around 6 lakh and i guess only 10-11 got placed .. and 16-17 was eligibile for it. For eligible to placement you don't have any backlog in any subject and some minimum cgpa required too

Remarks:

I won't say as positive or negative but overall it's average in terms of everything campus facilities and every event that has been organised in our college. Also for faculties they are average in teaching.

BITS Pilani, Goa Campus- A road to an interesting life.

I applied to IITs, NITs, GFTIs and VIT apart from BITS. I got confirmed admission into VIT while the process for other colleges was ongoing. I withdrew from the process of other as soon as I got into BITS. I also withdrew my application from VIT. I chose this college over other colleges is because BITS is known for its excellence and great alumni network . It also has one of the most successful statistics of placements over other private colleges. The admission to BITS is done through BITSAT. It takes place every year along with Jee Mains and Jee Advance . The cutoffs vary every year for the courses and can be easily found on Google. This exam is of high eminence and is held high in place along with the JEE exams.
