Jamia Millia Islamia is a central university located in Delhi. It is a very good university in terms of academic. The campus of JMI is so beautiful, well maintained. One negative about JMI is that very few hostels are available. Overall, all the facilities are better but the Law faculty is the best.
I'm from a Humanities background. In that subject, Law field is seen as the best field. Also, I was inclined toward the profession of Judge. The honour and respect in society, high income and secured job- all these things attracted me toward law. So, I have chosen law. The faculty of Law in JMI is awesome. Their ranks are always good on different rankings. It always lies in top-10 position.
Yes, they offer an internship but it is limited only in the course. Mainly professional course departments offer an internship. Faculty of Law, faculty of management, faculty of Dentistry, department of natural science, faculty of engineering etc offers internship. Both types of internship are offered by JMI.
Campus placements take place mainly in a professional course like MBA, B.Tech, Diploma in engineering, Hotel management etc. Very big companies like L&T, Tech-Mahindra, HCL, TCS comes here for placement.
There are two sections in BA LLB in Jamia. The first is the regular course and the second is Self-Financed. There is nothing different between them but an only fee. The fee of the regular course is 10,000 and the self-financed one is 40,500. There are several scholarships in JMI but mostly are for girls. They help very much to get a scholarship.
Jamia Millia Islamia celebrates its foundation day in the month of October. 'Foundation Day Celebration' is the biggest celebration in JMI. It continues for 3 to 5 days. All type of cultural programme from every department takes place in M.A. Ansari Auditorium. In the last, a Mushaira is organised in the Open-Theatre.
To get admission in BA LLB in Jamia, one has to crack entrance exam which is conducted by Controllers of Exam, JMI. There are 150 questions in the entrance exam. For every correct answer, you will get +1 marks and for every wrong answer, 0.25 will be deducted from you gain marks.
From the 5th semester one is eligible for campus placement and every summer there is summer placement available for every student. Many companies come to college every year but the placement is not that high one only gets 7 - 8 lacs per annum.
Last semester students become eligible for placements but only those students who have some skills. Different multinational companies visit to recruit the students from the campus. They offer an average package of 3 to 15 lakh per year. Only 40 percent of the students get placed from the campus. Fimt is the only college that provides its students an opportunity to do a diploma from Kathmandu with their course.
From second-year students eligible for placements. Many companies and law firm come for placement on campus and offer good remuneration for those who got selected by the firms and companies. Many law firms offer for internship for the willing students.
The placement facility is very good in college, after 4th-semester student are eligible for campus placement 1st division marks, I heard that 18 lac package is the highest package offered and the 10 lac is minimum with a good amount of percentage, my plan is after getting a degree is litigation
One thing that is common to almost all the public educational institutions is that they have good faculty members and bad administration. It is somewhat similar for the faculty of law. The teachers are more than great but when it comes to the administration it may be a little troublesome. Generally the problem arises in the delay in getting ID cards, case materials, library cards, examination forms, admit cards and so on. But this isn't much of a trouble since there are helpful seniors who are always there to help you. Also, the people in administration are also not so rude and are pretty student friendly. My overall impression of this college being myself a first year student is much more better than I expected it to be. The faculty has great facilities especially in the new building called the Umang Bhawan (for Law Center 1 and 2). It has elevators, spacious classrooms, a seperate moot court hall, parking facility, canteen, and a huge open space in the backside.
Our college management is worst. Not follow even UGC guidelines. Semester not start on time Admission process is very slow
The college management all depends upon the university staff the college is nice the ambience of college is great we get many amenities like sports ground gym swimming pool library garden park vakra walkway swimming pool nice roads street lights clean drinking water toilets
The fees should be according to the facilities provided , the fees should be lower then the fees of the top colleges of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. There should be a playing ground for the students , what kind of college it is when there is no ground for outdoor sports like cricket ,football , volleyball, basketball.
This the best law college in the north Delhi region with affordable fee structures and a very good ambiance and crowd surrounds you which makes you feel confident.
