Remarks
VIT is being constantly ranked 1st or 2nd among the private engineering institutions in our country. The study pattern is quite flexible due to ffcs (fully flexible credit system), where you can choose your the subjects you want to study. The fees is to much for the students, who have a very high rank in entrance exam. In the 5 categories, the fees increases as you reach a higher category level.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose Civil Engineering because of my interest in this field. Faculty is quite supportive and one can feel free to clear their doubts with them. Student teacher ratio is about 1:18 or 1:22. Teacher are well qualified for their subjects and teaching methods adopted are also good and interactive. Term exams were always on time and due to relative marking system passing the exams was not too difficult.
Placement Experience
Form 5th semester one becomes eligible for placements. Several companies like L&T, Microsoft, google come there for placements. Super dream pack offered to a student this year was 96 lakh. 80-90% students get placed from college placements.
College Events
Riviera, the Cultural fest of vit is the 3rd largest fest in India, organised in February every year. Gravitas, the tech fest, is also very attractive and fun which is organised in October every year. You can find most of the books which you need in your course. There is also a search engine managed by vit itself where you can find any book. Classrooms are also very good. All the labs are fully air conditioned. Sports facilities are very good. There are separate grounds for girls and boys where one can play any game. Separate courts for all indoor sports. Presently, there are 150+ clubs in vit which provide opportunity to students to nurture their skills and personality.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees system is quite complex. If you are a hosteller, and are selected in category 1 of the fees system then for 4 years one will have to pay 13-15 lakhs. Scholarship is given to university topper, branch toppers of every year. Placement in IT & CS branch is quite good.
Hostel Facilities
Room are not too spacious so it might be a problem for some students to adjust. In every block one can find a canteen which serves till midnight. You can register for hostel through online mood. A middle class guy can afford the hostel but will surely will have to adjust with others at the end.
