Remarks

The faculty was helpful within their limited means. The management can be improved. One principal would pull girls out of the class if they were found wearing jeans. This was a little too much.

Entrance Preview

I had taken the CET entrance test and had scored around 9000. My other options were all out-of-station colleges for the same course. Within Bangalore only mechanical was available with a few colleges. Also, 1 of my college acquaintance had gained admission in this college, hence it seemed like the best option at that time.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

The course structure and the electives was unsatisfactory. We were not provided with an option to pick our subject. Instead, the college decided the electives based on the faculty available with them and we all had to opt for it. There is no importance on research and the faculty was not competent to handle any queries and clarify our doubts/questions. The curriculum was limited to the prescribed text books.

Placement Experience

2

The placement cell was first setup just before we graduated. Though there were no companies interested to come to our college. The cell at least got us to pool campus interviews. And for that I am very thankful. Not 1 or 2 but we were kept posted on quite a few pool campus interviews happening in Bangalore.

College Events

2

Our college had biannual cultural activity. But there was no technical fest then. Though our cultural fests were limited to participants from within our college itself, we were given permission to participate in other inter-collegiate competitions and events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I had gotten a merit seat in the college, hence feel that the fee structure was feasible. I am not aware of the management fee structure, though. The tuition fee and the exam fee were quite bearable. It was definitely more affordable than school fees for a preschooler, now a days.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was no good scholarship or loan facility offered by the college that i know of or have availed.

Campus Life

2

The campus life was good and diverse. The only extra curricular activity offered was a few carrom boards and chess boards. There was some politics active in the college between students from different regions. But this is present in most colleges. Nothing alarming. But this review is based on my experience way back in 2005. I am not aware if there have been any improvements now.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

Until i had graduated there was no hostel facility in the college. The hostel building was being constructed then. I am not aware of the facility now.

Alumni/Alumna

There was no alumni network when i was passing out. And after I had passed out as well, i am not aware if there is any. I had lost touch with all friends and seniors from my college.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is set by the Visveswaraiah Technological University. The college had no influence on it. The exams were not too cramped together. We had plenty of time for preparation and for other fun activities. The internal lab tests, internal theory exams as well as the semester exams were comfortably spaced and did not leave us exhausted.

Faculty

2.5

The faculty was not competent to handle any queries and clarify our doubts/questions. Most of them were students waiting to clear their masters. There was no importance given to advancing a student's academic career. Their goal was to finish the syllabus but not to interest the students to understand the practical implications of the course being taught.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
