Remarks

I applied for Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh but didn't get my desired stream so I opted for NIt Jalandhar I didn't apply for any quota. Admission criteria were based on JEE Main marks and the minimum rank was 14000 for the IT branch. Due to COVID-19, everything is online so the counseling was in online mode.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course bacause of umpteen opportunites in my job. the ratio of faculty student is 1:10. Most of the faculty have PhDs and masters in their respective subjects. every 5 months, we have to appear in end semester exams and difficulty level is based on subject

Class Size: 117Course Fees: INR 160000 per year

Internships Opportunities

companies like SanDisk, TT, flipkart, amazon and paytm gave internships to students for period of 6 months . students can apply for internships either at the end of 2nd year or in the middle of 3rd year. projects made by students in the internships help to build their resume for further jobs

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for applying for campus placements from the 6th semester. Around 150 companies visited for college placements including Microsoft, Google, etc. the highest package that is given to senior-most batch is 43.2 lakh to 2-3 students by Microsoft and 10-12 lakh per annum is the average package 50-60% of students are placed in decent companies I plan for doing MBA from the greatest colleges like IIMs.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it is a government-aided college so it has comparatively fewer fees than the private universities and it costs around 2.5 lakh (including hostel fees). all the scholorships that are approved bt govt. are available here and special scholorship for single girl child

Campus Life

4.5

The annual fest named "UTKANSH" would hold in December and due to online mode, we didn't know much. around 10000+ books are available in the library and 1000+ journals are available all the digital technology is available in classrooms with proper sound system and fully equipped with A.C.s all the outdoor sports like football, cricket, and basketball, etc. are available and their respective teams are formed to perform in inter NITs tournaments. clubs like "Criminal Crew" for dancing and "Bawre Theatre" for acting are run by students

Hostel Facilities

3.5

hostel rooms are fully A.C. with attached washrooms and neat and clean environment. all types of nutritious as well as Chinese is served in the mess and menu is different for 7 days of the week registration can be done by physically appearing in college and requesting to the main building, it is not done online.

Hostel Fee: INR 120000 per year

Likes

The campus is beautiful, spacious, and offers good infrastructure with modern facilities.
The university provides good exposure to technical courses, eventrs , clubs, and extracurricular activities.
The campus has good labs, a library, and facilities that support students academic development.

Dislikes

The fees are high and losing a scholarship due to cgpa requirements can create a significant financial burden.
More personalized mentorship and regular career guidance sessions would help student prepare for their future carees.
more internship opportunities would further improve students professional growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the CSE curriculum covers relevant subjects and provides a good foundation programming and computer science. It prepares students for futher studies and careers, through more industry-based projects and practical learning would be bemigficial. Exams include MSTs and ESTs, with a manageable difficulty level through regi;ar preparation.

Likes

college life of Chandigarh university is so good, all the events do happen .
teachers are so experienced and they are so supportive in here.
the placements in this university are great, all the big tech companies do visit while placements and provide jobs to the deserved students.

Dislikes

All the online courses should be reduced.
nothing is there in the university that is to dislike.
majority of the things are all good in our university.

Placement Experience:

The placemnets in the university starts from the 3 year only. companies comes in the 3rd year, students= can give interviews in this year, and they can get the NOC. wich means you can go for the job or the iinternship and there is no need to take the classes, because you are taking the indyustry level experience in the prior basis also.

Dislikes

hectic schedules drain the soul of you .
frequent exams test that are totally unnecesary
attendance is another nuisance , having 75 percent is must

A TOUR TO CGC LANDRAN

Likes

Events are more frequent here and most of the stars from punjabi industry are called more often for film promotions
No ragging is there infact seniors are friendly and try to help juniors
TPP (training and placement program) is provided that help students to crack placements

Dislikes

Attendance criteria (minimum 75 % is essential to maintain to be eligible to give exams)
Class timings are fixed from 9:15 to 4:35 and you can not enter in between 10 to 12:00 PM as gates are closed for this duration
Strength is rapidly increasing as new courses are introduced which increases competition during placements

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement students need to enroll in TPP(Training and placement program) in order to get eligible for campus placement, Many companies visit our campus for eg Capgemini, LNT, ZSCALER, EDIFECS, AMAZON, PWC, WATCHGUARD TECHNOLOGIES etc overall above 200 offerrs are made to our senior batch with the highest package of 32LPA and average package of around 4.5LPA. more than 60% of students get placed . I am also sitting for campus placement and wish to get placed soon

College Life is Fun, Various activities and events happen in and around college, you got to know about others and crowd is also decent, Mostly Students are from northern regions that is Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand .
Teachers are good and placement coordinators also help students to get good package on campus. a decent package can be bagged by a student if he/she seriously study and obtain a decent CGPA in exam. Make sure you clear all exams till 8th semester.
Infrastructure Is also good, laboratories are fitted with new desktops and campus size is also decent, Tuck shops and various Canteens are available inside the campus. Also Central Library is there inside the campus where students can study in exam t

Dislikes

The curriculum for 1st and 2nd semester is purely based on subjects that you studied in 11th and 12th, the advance versions of those topics are there in 1st and 2nd semester which make it difficult for students to get good grades.
The placement in other branches like Mechanical, electrical is mere, and one can face difficult in getting on campus placement if he/she belongs to these streams. Also Lack of practical knowledge is there in these streams, Theory is more focused.
If one opt for hostels, then the hostel facilities are not as good as it should be , the mess food is pathetic and one can face difficulty if he/she opt for hostel, also campartively hostel fees are also very high, whereas nearby Pg's are cheaper

Placement Experience:

placement is good in our college. Aveage package is 400000, and average package for cse stream is approx 500000. Various companies like alstom, infosys, accenture, TCS, Wipro, amazon, Walmart, JP Morgan chase and co. etc visit campus every year and recruit students. Approx 300+ companies visit campus and above 80% of cse students are placed but In other streams like ECE.EE and ME etc placements are campartively lower and students face difficulty in order to get placed. MY plan is job oriented i also want to get placed on campus and hope so i will get placed in a good company.
