Entrance Preview

Exam - VITEEE, Rank - Something around 13000. Reason to choose - The best option I had Also, I didn't want to drop out and study for 1 more year.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

There is an FFCS(Fully Flexible Credit System) for course registration for each semester. Though it is not so flexible :p (Particularly for my stream IT, I guess due to lack of faculty). Coming to exams, there is 2 CAT(Continuous Assessment test), 3 quizzes,1 assignment, and the Final term end exam.

Internships Opportunities

College doesn't provide any internship to B.Tech Graduates.

Placement Experience

4

Placement is good as compared to another private college. There are good companies as well as mass placement opportunities. Almost everyone will get at least in mass companies. Although there are some rules that I don't feel are reasonable. For super dream companies, the management considers internships also as placement, and the candidate is not allowed to sit for other super dream companies.

College Events

5

There are two major events. Gravitas - Tech Fest which is in September. Mostly technical events are there. Few fun event. Riviera - Cultural Fest which is usually in February. Mostly a fun event. Also, night shows of popular singers are organized. Also, several clubs are there which organizes events throughout the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible or expensive will vary from person to person. According to me, the fee structure is quite reasonable as compared to other private college. At my time(2012-16), it was around 1.7 LPA including hostel and mess. Now, the fee structure is according to rank.

Fees and Financial Aid

The is a scholarship for minorities as per my knowledge. Also, there is a provision for providing full scholarship (academic+hostel+mess) to Tamilnadu topper of each district(or village) which are called star students.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is full of fun as well as exams. Semester passes so quickly we don't even realize. Also, there is a lot of opportunities to grow academically as well as personally. The gender ratio in 1:3 I believe but it doesn't matter much and is not even noticeable. People from all over India are there. Wide diversity and feels like home to everyone.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facilities and mess food are quite good. The rooms as well as the hostel campus are properly taken care of. Also, there are 3 types of a mess - Special, North-Indian, and South-Indian in both veg and non-veg with 4 times meals (breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner) per day. The food is also Edible and hygienic. The mess timings are also properly maintained.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an alumni network that is managed by the college. So, every student is a part of it. It is very helpful for students as well as college.

Exam Structure

There are 2 CAT(Continuous Assessment test), 3 quizzes,1 assignment, and the Final term end exam. Questions are quite easy and scoring. Use of the brain is not much required. Limited amount to focus on and questions will be asked from that. The CGPA is also high due to that reason.

Admission

I couldn't attend my counseling because I had some other exam. My father attended on my behalf. Though I was on call most of the time. The process was smooth. People were called according to rank and they can choose the branch of their choice(from whatever is left). The no. of seat branch-wise was displayed on big screens. Also, It was being updated online(at the end of each day as I remember).

Faculty

3

There are good as well as average faculty. Some have good knowledge but don't know how to teach. It totally depends on whom you choose during registration. Also, some will be cool some won't be ;p. But almost all are good at giving marks. Overall faculty in VIT can be ranked average.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
