NIT Rourkela, B.Tech, Electronics & Communication Engineering

Reviewed on Jul 17, 2021(Enrolled 2013)

Remarks

The admission process was smooth. Make sure you have few certificates as must like the cast, marks sheets, and allotment letter. The Remaining can be submitted afterward too. I was selected under the OBC quota and my 12th mark has great weightage for it

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have taken electronics and communication engineering. The student ratio is around 45 per branch. The faculties are well experienced and give you good insights about your career, but don't expect much from them. The exams were planned in a timely manner and it was quite difficult to pass exams if you study one day before the exams

Class Size: 45Course Fees: INR 93000 per year

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I have taken on more projects and fewer internships during my journey. I got placed in IBM and the package was around 5.5 including a variable pay of 50000 For projects, guides will always help you out Whenever you require

Placement Experience

7th semester onwards for BTech and 3rd semester for Mtech. During my time around 300 companies visited our campus out of which around 100 companies we are eligible for and I have secured 2 offers The highest is 27 lacs from Amazon The average would be 5 LPA Around 90 % of students placed from ECE

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees have been increased dramatically over the years considering the standard of the college. the college culture was the best thing that people enjoy often. I have received Dhirubhai Ambani scholarship as I have good scores in 12 th

Campus Life

The fests are like festivals here..you get ample of time to explore all these, but people should keep in mind that everything should be balanced else they might end up ruined. books are available in the library a first come first serve basis.. Classrooms are big and Casey They have good grounds for all sports the campus is big so as the grounds There are few dance clubs ..like synergy and cinematics and electronic clubs like a cyborg and all

Hostel Facilities

Everyone will be allocated a room in their first year with others .once they come to 3 RD year they will have separate rooms and Mtech guys have separate rooms all the time. meals ar good, but south Indian s may face difficulties.

Hostel Fee: INR 25000 per year

Decent faculty and top tier placements, just follow the rules

Likes

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

Dislikes

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. The Admission steps include 1)register and appear for jee mains 2) Get jee rank and register on the Josaa Portal 3) Fill college and branch choices 4) seat allotment in rounds; upload documents and pay seat acceptance fees 5) final admission after physical document verification at Nit Rourkela....Read More

Discovering NIT Rourkela

I chose NIT rourkela based on my JEE rank, as this was the highest rated college I could get.It had good placements, had a high NIRF ranking and in comparsion to my other choices was the clear winner. The admission process takes place through JOSSA counselling for B.Tech.After being alloted a college on site registration takes place followed by hostel allocation and branch admission , a procedure that lasts about 6-10 hours. To avail admission you need to have a good JEE Main rank for which previous year cutoffs are available on the internet....Read More

The exam happens twice in a year and by difficulty level is pretty descent...with maths the hardest and toughest.
