Entrance Preview

Entrance into VIT is via a witty exam called the VITEEE. I secured a rank of 6084 in this exam. I chose VIT over BITS Goa and a few NIT's (not top tier). One of the main reasons I opted for this college was the infrastructure and the academic level of the faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is hands down, the best part of the course. You have the luxury and freedom to pick anything and everything from the course, professor to even the slot timings. This allows us to opt for the right electives, be it from any other school and at a time that doesn't clash with existing courses.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college doesn't provide internship outright. However, it is mandatory to have an internship in between the 2nd or 3rd years and the college's name does open doors.

Placement Experience

5

100% placement, Record-breaking placement records. American companies creating records for the highest number of students hired from one single college.

Fees and Financial Aid

As with most colleges, the top performers always get a great scholarship. Loans are plentiful, can be easily attained.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is perfect. Neither too frequent so as to inhibit learning nor too far apart to be irrelevant. The final split is 50-50 towards internal and final exams. The internals includes CAT exams and assignments. Interesting and relevant assignments too.

Admission

The admission process was simple. Appeared on the designated date, chose my course, paid the fees, and voila, I was in. Everything was computerized and extremely efficient. Reaching Vellore is not too hard either. Choosing the course was not hard too, I wanted to join CS, but given the flexible nature of courses, I chose IT.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
