Remarks

I took admission in the first cut off, which went 90% for Statistics Honours in Mata Sundri College, University of Delhi. We have to visit the college within 3 days after the cut off list is published along with verified documents, their xerox copies and passport size photographs. On entering the college, you have to go to the prescribed department within the college and you have to submit your academic details. The teacher or the staff member checks your documents, then you have to fill your admission form and after getting it signed by the HOD, you have to go to the office and they submit your documents and give you a confirmation slip along with your course fee slip. We have to make the payment online and after that, we have to submit the document which is issued after the payment made in the college along with a copy of the fee slip. On the day of orientation, the college gives us a brief introduction about the college and its faculty which is held in the auditorium.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The teachers are very good in their respective subjects. We used to have quite interactive lectures. They also provide notes which is helpful not only from an exam point of view but for postgrad entrance exams too. Mostly, teachers take tests after finishing every unit whereas practicals and assignments go on side by side. Practical exams are quite scoring whereas theoretical is quite difficult but one can ace it if given thorough reading and have its concepts clear.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have to make the payment for the entire year at the beginning of the year which is nearly around 19000. It's a huge amount to pay at once. It would be better if it would have been divided into segments. There is a scholarship provided to the students whose families income is 2LPA, there is a criteria to apply for this scholarship and students have to submit required verified documents.

Campus Life

3.5

Every year, we have our Annual fest "SAARANG" which is held on the college premises. Every year, a new artist is invited to the college. In the year 2020, we have "Sartaj Singh", a great singing sensation of Punjab with us. The event was a grand success. And also, we had a lot of stalls and games. The environment on the event day was lit. We have a quite big underground library which is fully air conditioned. It's a good and calm place to go whenever you have a free period. We have NCC in our college and many sports club along with dramatics, bhangra, geeda, western dance, debating, pcell, cell, departmental societies like statiska for stats, commivictus for commerce, polimates for pol science and many more. We have departmental fest too, mostly between Nov-Feb. We have a Diwali fest too in our college. And a good canteen with amazing food. @mscwbulletin, on Instagram, is a page handled by the student union of our college. There you can find different account handles of societies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Remarks:

Good Remark: The college environment made it possible for me to have great friends and be the person who I have become. The teachers and facilities of well-equipped labs, guest lectures, events, library, etc. made it possible for us to have a great campus life. Bad Remark: The college management needs to update the library norms that they have (which made it difficult for us to have books for the weekend to study) and also need to provide students with better placement opportunities from the same field as the specializations.
