Remarks
I completed my bachelors in Economics and decided to join Pondicherry University because one of my seniors suggested it. When I checked online, I found that the fees are very nominal for the two year course. I had scored 70% in my bachelors and had a valid CAT score, and this made me eligible for applying. I applied online and paid a fee of 1000. After being shortlisted I was called in for an interview.
Course Curriculum Overview
This is a 2 year course spanning over 4 semesters. They offered 4 specializations Finance, Marketing, HR and Operations and IT. The course that I chose was MBA Marketing. The first year was focused on core subjects and the paper I studied included Finance and Economics. It was during the second year that I took courses on Marketing. The department frequently conducted seminars and workshops in addition to class lectures. And this helped me in gaining practical knowledge of the field. The faculties were very helpful and helped me whenever I went to them with a problem.
Placement Experience
The placement percentage of my batch was as high as 96%. The major recruiters that visited include HCL, WIPRO and Infosys. The highest package offered for my batch was around 12LPA and the average package was around 4LPA. I got placed at Wipro and the package that was offered was 6.5 LPA
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee that I had to pay for the 2 year course was around 1 lakh 50 thousand. This is very cheap in comparison to other colleges. Our institution does not provide any scholarships or financial assistance. However government availed merit and need based scholarships are available. This includes Madanjeet Singh Group Scholarship, Scholarship for Single Girl Child and Scholarships for students from Pondicherry.
Campus Life
Our institution has a very big campus and transportation inside the campus is available in the form of bus and autos. They also have a well-stocked library. There are reading room, gym, health center, post office and a bank inside the campus. The campus has many cafeterias that work 24 hours. There are many cultural festivals conducted all through the year. This includes, Fresher?Ûªs Day, Alumni Meet, and Convocation etc. I thoroughly enjoyed my campus because of its vibrant student community.
Hostel Facilities
I had to pay 900 rupees for the hostel rent. I had 2 other roommates and the rooms were furnished with tables, beds and cupboards. Hostels are also equipped with Wi-Fi. We also had a mess attached to the hostel. The mess was hygienic and provided decent food. The food was mostly South Indian, which some of my north Indian friends found difficult to adjust to.
