Remarks

There are many factors that made me to choose IIT Madras as my college. Since IIT Madras is India's Top Technical Institute and It provides quality education to the students. And the good aspects are like we got chance to learn from most knowledgeable faculties and intelligent as well as competent colleagues. And one more benefit, That there are no regular Classes and there are only tasks/work assigned to you that you've to complete within the deadline so there is no pressure attend the classes on a regular specific time. And bad aspects are like we miss campus life and we miss meeting to the faculties and colleagues face to face.

Course Curriculum Overview

I've chosen data science as my career because this is greatly in demand as well as one of the most highly paid job. There are about approximately 2000 Female students and around 6000 Male Students.Faculties are well qualified, having M.Tech. and PhD like degrees From the Premiere Institutes and have many years of teaching experience. Faculties are very supportive and are always there to help in any issue.There are 3 quizzes in which one is mandatory to attend to give end term exam. And It is quite easy to pass the term exams with the help of notes and by attending the live sessions.

Course Fees: INR 242000 per year

Placement Experience

In this degree, there are 3 semesters in a year,So students become eligible for placements in 7th sem(last year of the degree).And as this is the first batch of the course, so, no batch has reached yet to the 7th sem.So, still it is to be seen about the quality of the companies visited the campus.

Since it's online degree, so I miss campus life, social life, meeting with colleagues. But we get chance to participate in college fest which are organized online. We also got access to online library of IIT Madras.

Qualifier Exam, 2020, 68%

Admission

Actually there was a Qualifier Exam which was held at the exam centre. They have released 4 weeks content. Qualifier Exam questions were based on these 4 weeks content.And four weeks consists four courses namely Statistics, Maths, English and Computational Thinking. To get admission, we need to pass qualifier exam. And there is no age boundation. I've prepared for exam with the help of notes and live sessions.

Placement Experience:

In our University from the starting of Seventh semester we are eligible for campus placements. Campanies like Jubilant food works, Zifo Technologies, Amura Heath Pvt.Ltd, Biocon etc. were some of the companies that visited our campus. Around fifty students got offers from these companies. About 70 percentage of the students got placements successfully. I am planning to pursue a master degree abroad

I like MBA curriculum because it helps me develo0p management knowledge ,communication skills ,teamwork and decision -making abilities,The operations management subjects are relevant to my career goals .
The college provides opportunities to participate in classroom discissions ,presentations ,and academic activities .
Studying MBA helps me understanding bisiness operations ,leaderships and management principles .The coures provide a foundation for building a career in operations

Dislikes

More pratical exposure throught industry visits ,interactions ,internships and live projucts would help students connect classrooms learning with real industry requirements .
The college could orovide more structural placement guidance .
understanding the current logistics practices

The placement percentage should be confirmed with the college placement department. iI belive that internship pratical exposure , industry connections and interview preparations are importent for improving employability .After cpmpleting my MBA, I plan to developement my management career .

Many clubs available from Toastmasters to Campus Life, Our club Toastmasters is one of the peak highlights of our college. We regularly go to corporates to attend meetings of their clubs and network a lot.
Love the Research setup of our college. Has more than 15 COEs present. ABB research centre is the best among them
The bring in a lot of industry professionals every.One or the other event always keeps happening.

Dislikes

Campus is not very huge since it's in the centre of the city but the outside shops make up for this

Placement Experience:

From the very entry into your third year, you will be eligible to most of the placements. The training provided is very exquisite and some of the trainings start as early as 1st year. 2026 highest package was 55LPA. Many companies like from product companies like Microsoft, Capgemini to service based companies like TCS, INFOSYS etc.. visit our campus for regular placements. About 98% of people placed as far as I have heard.

the faculty is supportive and knowlwdgeabkle and the mba curriculuim helps develop practical management skills and industry knowledge.
the campus environment is freiendly with good opportunities for social interacting teamwork and extracurricular activities
the college provides placement opportunities with a package of 500000. however infrastructure industry expousre and placement support could be improved

the college needs to improve its infrastructure and provide more modern facilities for student . more practical learning industry visits interships band workshops should be includes in the mba curriculum.

It is the Good college and got opportunities in the sports and other activities.

Likes

It is better than my old college and giving free food and place to sit in the college campus.
In sports they are also helping for dearness allowance for playing matches and travelling.
They are also giving us the space to study and ask doubts without any hesitation

Dislikes

Canteen is not good and it is very congested
Some of teachers are not coming to the classes properly and they are also not teaching properly
Home guard is the problem in college. They are always making issues while parking the vehicles

Course Curriculum Overview:

Studying Master of commerce is okay. The same thing and few same subjects which I studied in undergraduate. Classes are good and we are also having some gaps. Not a big difference and 1 or 2 subjects are new for us. I want to suggest that to give holiday after the semester exams. But not before that. It is quite difficult for us to study. It will be easy for us to ask doubts.

Dive into data science with IITM

I applied to all NITs , VJTI, COEP etc but could not get into those due to cutoff of jee mains. I applied for this course in IIT Madras and as it had creteria that if you appeared for JEE Advanced you are elligible and hence I got admitted here . I got rejected in other IITs due to lesser score than cutoff scores and different creteria. The Ultimate Real World Skill Learning Source : IITM BS Degree.

I didn't apply to any other colleges because I didn't find any better college which would give me such flexibility in terms of fee and course pace. I didn't applied so I didn't get rejected from anywhere. To get admission in my current college , I had to qualify a qualifier (entrance for this degree) exam which made me eligible for this exam. Only 12th class certificate was required which obviously I have with more than 60 % in maths. Cuttoffs are very easy to obtain. The cuttoff is according to category, for my catogery which is obc I had to obtain at least 40% marks but I get 82% marks and hence passed the qualifier and got the admission letter.
