Remarks

I applied for VIT Vellore. The process for admission was very simple and smooth. Due to pandemic the official exam of the institute was not conducted so the admissions were on the basis of JEE Mains and 12th exam marks. Either you can apply on the basis of JEE Mains or on the basis 12th marks(PCM and English). For the appication we one should score atleat 60% in each of PCM in 12th standard. After decelaration of ranks counceling process was also very good. Simply we have to select the branch we want in and in which campus priority wise which would be alloted according to our rank. So over all the process of application and admission was so good and simple.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have choosen this course because I have had courage regarding this course from my schooling days. Faculty:student ratio in my university is 1:65 which is not that good but still conciderable. Faculties are very well qualified with PhD and Masters degree from reputated institutes of the nation and world and with good teaching expirience. Teaching system in the university is one the best in the country. Timely lectures by Industrial experts are conducted for more practicle knowledge. There are several clubs and chapters for the over all development of students. University follows the FFCS system which allows the students to choose subjects of their own interest irrespective of the field they are pursuing and also allows trhem to choose the faculty of their own. In a semester 3 times exams are conducted( CAT1, CAT2 and FAT) so that a students focus on their studies throughout the semester. Good conceptual questions are asked in these exams.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

VIT Vellore doesen't offer good opportunities for internship. You have to work on your own to get good internship. You can do some projects in the interest of your field and publish research papers with the help of your faculty members and develop your CV to get a good internship. However VIT provides you a letter signed by the Dean of your branch, that you can send to the company if needed.

Placement Experience

4

Placement statistics are very good for the university. Students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester with very good opportunities from the leading recruits in the field. Placement percentage of the college 80 with an average salary of 6.05 Lakhs in 2019-20. The highest salary package was offered by Microsoft( CTC - 41.60 Lakhs) following Work India ( 40 Lakhs) . Other major recruits are- TCS, Infosys, Deollite, J.P Morgan, Samsung, HCL, Google, IBM, NPCL, Mahindra, TATA, Swiggy, Amazon, and many more. But still, there is a need to improve placement opportunities for branches like Civil, Chemical, Electrical and upto some extent for Mechanical. Total 713 companies visited the campus for placements and a total of 7771 job offers were given by them. My plans after getting the degree are to get a good job in core companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure of the college is high if you are from a middle-class family you have to take loans to pay the fees. Tution fees structure varies according to the rank you got in the entrance exam. Hostel and mess charges are also quite high. No campus jobs and proper scholarships are provided.

Campus Life

5

Riviera is the Annual International sports and Cultural carnival of the institute conducted in Feb for 4 days. Gravitas is the techno fest conducted in October for 3 days. The library of the institute is one of the best libraries among leading institutes with over 2 Lacks books and 400 Journals. Sports facilities on the campus are world-class with well-equipped Outdoor and Indoor stadiums. Sports events are conducted every year in which various universities visit. There are several clubs and chapters in the university related to Art&Culture, Technical, Literature, Health&Wellness, Social outreach. Clubs run by students are Debate Society, Dance club, Dramatics club, and many more.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.
