Entrance Preview

I took AIEEE(All India engineering entrance examination) and secured a rank of 58959. I had applied for this college and given my rank this was my best.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is very well balanced with all the subjects same for every stream in the first semester and subsequently the core subjects come into the picture with every next semester. The work load is quite balanced and you get a lot of opportunities to follow your areas of interest apart from studies.

Internships Opportunities

There were no internships provided by the campus back then in 2012-13 but I came to heard from some of my juniors that some companies have started showing interest in providing internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

There is a good mix of companies coming for placements. You just have to maintain a decent cgpa of around 6 to be eligible to sit in most of the companies participating in the drive. The college has a placement cell which is quite dedicated and diligent in making sure that the college has a big lot of companies. There are various pre placement tests and interviews planned for the students as well.

College Events

5

My college gave a lot of emphasis on extra curricular activities as well which lead to the overall development of a student. There were various events taking place throughout the year and it made sure there was maximum participation. Technical fest- Dextra (around 7500 participants spanning over 32+ events and an average turnout of 312 participants per event).

Fee Structure And Facilities

B. Tech - tuition fee 55000 inr per semester, Development fee-60000 inr per year, Caution money- 10000 one time, refundable , Hostel charges - 45000 inr per semester. I believe that the development fee is something that the college can cut down to an extent, otherwise the cost of education is feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were quite a lot of scholarships available Post metric scholarship for SC/ST /OBC students of Madhya Pradesh. Parental income<2 lakh per annum for sc/st candidates (total scholarship +tuition fee granted). Parental income between 2 and 3 lakh for sc/st ( half scholarship and tuition fees granted)

Exam Structure

Now this was something for which I loved my college curriculum. We had a very unique kind of evaluation system wherein we had 3 exams for each subject in one semester. The first one was of 15 marks, the second or 25 and the third of 35. This added to 75 and the rest 25 marks were divided into 5 marks for attendance, 10 for quizzes and another 10 for practicals.

Admission

I had filled the form when I was about to appear for my class 12th board exams since I had heard from my seniors that it was a very good institute in terms of the curriculum and infrastructure. I gave the AIEEE exam and after the results I got a call from the college for the counselling process. I had my counselling in the solan campus and I simply loved the college.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is quite helpful and supportive. Nearly all of the professors make sure that the students get an understanding of the content that they are teaching. There are regular quizzes that the teachers plan. Most of the faculty is from IITs which gives the students an added advantage to grasp as much as they can.

Placement Experience:

Placements in college are quite good if we compare them with other similar state government engineering colleges. It has a separate TPO (training and placement office) cell which helps students in their placements. Some quite good companies like TCS and Wipro visit the campus for placements. Around 40% of students get placed every year. The highest being 11 LPA. Core competencies the lowest 3.5 LPA salary offered in IT sector companies. Reliance, LNT, Infosys were the top recruiters. Every year students go for internships in BHEL NTPC etc. Companies ( around 30%) Other 70% students go for local transmission plant as the internship is compulsory for everyone. Students organize cultural activities.
