Jadavpur University- Maximum learning with Minimum fees

I was admitted through SC category. There is no age limit for admission to any engineering program in the institution. Marks around 80 is good for a student to capture a seat in the higher streams like CSE, ETCE or IT. Physical verification was conducted in 1st week of April after the lockdown curbs were loosened, with documents being verified with every Covid protocol being followed, as well the procedure being smooth and fast.

BE in CSE has better prospects in internships and placements, and better future oppurtunities, which is why I chose this stream. Faculty to student ratio is 16:1 Most of the faculty has completed PhD. and are well experienced in the field of teaching, and provide a good learning experience. Exams are conducted regular in every semester, which includes mid semester exams, class test, end semester examination. The question papers are of standard level, and easy to pass, if the student has proper knowledge

Companies like Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Capgemini, Bajaj Auto provide internships as well to the students. After completion of the internships, many are also provided with Pre-Placement Offers(PPO) with high package when they sit for placements

Students for 3rd year are eligible to sit for internships and placements. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Benett Coleman Group, Bajaj Auto, Daikin, Capgemini, TCS, Deutsche Bank recruit students every year. In 2020, 647 students were placed. The percentage of students placed stand aroung 84%, with Computer Science at 100% placements in 2020.

Fees are really less, total fees for the 4 years course stands at just 10420 currently ( excluding hostel accomodation fees). Cost of study at JU is really less compared to similar institutes at similar level like few IITs and most of the NITs. There are special scholarships for students admitted through TFW category provided by the state government as well

Freshers for the newly admitted students are organised by the seniors of the department every year. Annual fests are organised in December. Tech fests like the Annual JU E-Summit are organised by the Entreprenuership Cell annualy during August, which help students to learn and compete in different type of events like coding, dummy share market competitions, which help to learn about different skills useful in life. Sports clubs like Chess, Football are also there in the University. Different clubs for painting, Science, Entrepreneurship, coding, sports are run by students guided by the faculties.
