The Production Engineering of Jadavpur University has provided quality education to all the students at most aspects.

Students who want to get into 4 year Engineering courses in JU must have to sit for the WBJEE examination and secure rank within cutoff. The counselling process takes place in 3 main rounds with a Spot Round after that. The whole process is online. Candidates are required to choose their preferences online some days before the start of the 1st round. The counselling fee is 5000 for General Candidates, which gets included in the admission fees if you are taking admission otherwise is refunded. After the counselling round ends and your final selection is some department in JU, you will be called to the campus to complete the admission process. That's it! You are good to go to start your new college life!

I love mechanics and that's what Production Engineering is about. Its a blend of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering with elements of management required in modern day industry life. Each year around 44-55 students get selected for this course taught by 15+ well educated (but few lacking abilities to make study interesting) professors and research scholars. Two types of exams happen in the curriculum, 1. Class Tests (30 + 30 /6months) 2. Semester (100 marks /6months) In overall weightage, 70% of Semester Exam marks & 30% of Class Test marks are taken into consideration per semester. The student gets a grade card specifying his/her SGPA every semester.

Few companies come for internships in college, the rest all the students have to opt for that on their own. We are required for industrial/vocational training at the end of the 2nd year and an internship at the end of the 3rd year. In the 3rd year every student is assigned to do a project under different professors of our department.

To be honest, the placement scenario in our university is one of the best in the whole country. Saying about our department, this year companies that came includes Bajaj Motors (8 LPA), Airbus (10LPA), Optum(16LPA), Gupshup ( 28.5LPA), PWC (8LPA), Capgemini (7LPA), TCS Digital, and a few more. Highest Package - 28.5LPA. Lowest Package - 7LPA (Till now). Every year around 80 % of students gets placed via on campus rest gets via off campus and some opt for higher studies. My plans are of securing a good rank in the CAT exam and do an MBA.

The fess is very less because of government subsidies, for which a student needs to pay around only 12000 for the 4year course to get a job of CTC 12LPA (Departmental Average in 2021). Thus the return on investment is very high. Companies like Airbus, PWC, Tata Steel etc. also come to campus especially for Production Engineering students to give internship opportunities. Hiring companies include Bajaj Motors, Maruti, ONGC, Airbus, PWC, Optum, Goldman Sachs, etc.

Every year tech fests and cultural fests happen on campus namely, Srijan, Sanskriti, Arena, Convolution, etc. Sports played inside the campus includes Cricket, Football, Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball, Taekwondo, etc. Students formed clubs with financial assistance by university and alumni are Science Club, Entrepreneurship Cell, Debating Society, Chess Club, Drama Club, Photography Club, etc.
